Full on Polini. 👍 I would still keep the stock air box though.

Thank you Ghostaroni. That will help alot. Much appreciated 👍👍. np dude, post a video up when you are done. you are building an engine similar to mine, but your exhaust is way nicer it will be interesting to see the differences. don't hesitate to pm if you need help fandoogling something into place. aerox said I am using the stock airbox as well; and agree you should too. test them side by side and see what you like, though. apparently using the stock box lets the motor run on resonance, but using a free flow filter changes the characteristics. I can't get into specifics, as it is above my paygrade; for now. make sure your CP carb has no air needle, otherwise it won't vuurk.

My stock carb is 15mm. Will a 17.5 make that much difference or should I go with a 19mm or 21mm? I’m ordering all my parts from scootertuning.ca. And they recommend the 17.5mm.

17.5 carb is a big upgrade over stock . I actually liked it better than the 19mm on my previous builds . If you were going with a much racier set up than push for a 19mm or 21mm here is a reference www.pedparts.co.uk/blog/yamaha-aerox-carb-comparisonI like what your building .

So after reading through the forum last night till midnight. I didn’t realize I bought a bastard child scooter with a weird engine 😱 So looks like I’m going to have to buy some adapters to get a new carb to fit the intake from malossi which is fine. But from what I gathered no minarelli pipes will fit because of the mounting brackets or is it the exhaust flange won’t line up or both? Please fill me in on this dilemma……. I don’t mind doing a little adjustments on the mounting brackets if I have to. Just want to make sure the exhaust flange lines up.

With 4 different pipes the stock flange was not the problem the mounting brackets spacing is off.
A dremel will become your best friend The mounting holes for mounting pipe bracket to frame on the minarelli center to center are 95 mm the roughhouse is 85 mm .
You can either dremel one of the holes or just get a new bracket made by a local welder or machine shop .
A few pipes are made to bolt up to the pgo and have the specific sized mounting brackets.
On the yamaha zuma to get the leo vince zx (malaguti style)to mount up we had to dremel or drill new holes to make it fit right

We are all learning with these roughhouses . So as you discover stuff that works well or works with easy modification let us know .
As a group we can save us all alot of frustration and find out some extra performance mods

Just got back from test riding. Been playing with the roller weights that came with the high speed variator. Top speed so far with 7.8 gram weights is 47.42mph. Not to bad. But I marked the variator with a sharpie and still have almost a1/4 inch of travel left over. So hopefully when the pipe and carb arrive and some more tuning I can reach full travel on it🤞.

You might be maxing out the stock belt. The stock belt is a bando 738x18x30 On the zuma we upsized the belt when we went from a 115 to a 122mm pulley the zuma belt is 738x16.5x30 upsized to the bws 100 belts for better belt travel front and back 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/24543/top-performance-td-belt-lengthThe stock roughhouse pulley is 118 mm the polini front pulley is 95 mm So i figured I could come up wit a budget overrange for the roughouse. I sent hippo008 a a 758X17.5x28 bando belt and he thinks its just about perfect front and back. So i know that belt works well. I have a dayco and malossi belts on the way that fall in that same range I will be trying next week. With a polini front pulley and 118 mm back pulley we just might have a few more longer belt options
