I’m thinking of picking up a Top Performance 122mm rear TD, being a larger OD it will need a larger belt to take advantage of its benefits. A stock Zuma belt is 738mm, I’m thinking something in the 750mm range would work well. I just checked the belts I have on hand Polini 248.003, Polini 248.040, Athena 751mm long and OEM Zuma. All are from 738-741mm. Not the 750ish all but OEM are supposed to be. Has anyone found a good belt to use with this pulley or are there belts in the 750’s that are actually their stated size?

TGB belts are right at 750. The one I have here is Bando GE506RB01.

how are you measuring? tape around outside or marking it and rolling on floor . they both will give different measurements. but not not a big difference

I mark it and roll on a flat surface which I think is accurate because the 738mm Yamaha OEM belt comes out true, just not the others.

Well I ordered it I’m thinking I’ll just cut an old belt to see how much extra length I’ll need. I think 750-752 should put me in the right area. I’ll update with my findings.

I know places like grainger measure their belts with a tape around the outside though. have you looked at industrial belts? like a bx75 or ax75. I forget which is the thicker of the 2. might be another option for you? ill look at the bigger 4t slow pokes I have. all my Honda 50's are tiny, like 642 or 654. I run 666 or a 669 belts with the dio zx/ metropolitan variator, clutch pulley mods

BX belts are way stiffer than our stuff. The have more “meat” to them. I ordered some for a project and decided against using one for that reason.

I was researching them and found a scooter belt that worked for me. I have used them when I worked on the oil fields. they're tough belts. my thought was the belt with more "meat" would have more surface area in contact. which would decrease slippage and wear.. did you ever try the belts on you scoot? if so what was the issue the belt gave you?

It seems my Polini 248.040 was labeled or made incorrectly. It’s supposed to be 750mm mine is 738, stock length. Asked PFS to measure one for me and they came up with 750mm. I’ve got it on the way...

Not sure where the screw up was. I know for certain it’s not the 750 it should be. I hope to have it by the weekend to get some tuning underway.

No, I found a scooter belt that was the length I wanted. But the BX belt seemed like it wouldn't be happy going around the pully at the smaller diameters.

I got the 750mm belt today and also tried a 751mm I found and they are both too short to use this 122mm pulley. The vendor I picked up the TD from offered a $25 credit to help discover the proper belt length and offered to send me a 757mm for free. Hopefully that’ll be the ticket but I may still need more length. The 757mm was found on early Aerox from my search and is tough to come across in the states for some reason. My next choice may be a 764mm. 750mm Polini

I have 2 predictions;
1: the belt will probably be the 764mm or longer. 2: the belt will be so long it will take some tuning to make it sit right in the OEM vario.
Have you tried going wider?

Maybe but I’m doing the hard part and the next guy can pick up the $75 pulley and a belt and call it good.
I’m running a Polini variator which when I originally installed it took some effort. Nothing is ever bolt on and go. I think the757 is stock Aerox lengthand the 764 is a longer for stock. Kind of the difference between a 738 OEM and a 750 on the Zuma. I’ll do some more research before I commit to a free belt.
