is it just me, or is the belt not riding very low in the rear pulley after the shift? It almost looks like the belt isn't riding deep enough in the rear pulley. Also, the Belt seems to be slapping around a lot. But I think your damn close.

Axis = minarelli shortcase. Shortcase belts are longer than longcase belts. Strange but true. yeah, I thought that Was kind of long for a long case. The axis is a short case? Damn. What about the grand axis? Is that a long case? We should gather some crank to TD lengths for added info. It would help in this case where your trying to find the correct belt length. Vino, Axis, jog, Zuma etc. We can start another thread with that info.

I only took about 20 seconds to set up each belt. The 774mm is worn a little thin also.

You never would of said it was so low in the pulley from looking at it. When we started tuning scooters. Nobody told us that a marker pen would be an essential tool. But it is.

KN企画 (KN Kikaku) gave me this list via e-mail when I was looking for a belt for my Prebug.
Long case
7019-SHORT-NS 17.7mm / 750mm 7019-L-SS 17.7mm / 762mm 7019-SS 17.7mm / 757mm
Short case
Stock 16.8 / 793mm Kitaco 16.8mm / 796mm 7020-SS 16.8mm / 800mm 7020-M-SS 16.8mm / 803mm 7020-L-SS 16.8mm / 806mm
I ended up using the 7019-L-SS belt for my Prebug and the 7020-L-SS for my Jog before I went LC crazy on it. I previously tried Polini and genuine Yamaha on my Prebug and both were way too short and sitting too low on the stock TD. I use a after market variator with larger OD and steep surfaces and Kitaco straight groove TD which is identical in OD as the stock TD from Yamaha.

How much does the top performance rear pulley sell for?
The 122mm pulley i used on a vento zip worked well with a malossi 611108 belt, But for a long case i think the malossi belt used for the mhr over range should fit perfectly length wise.

I used a front pulley that measures 99mm with a 122mm rear pulley prior to testing how high the belt will ride along the variator. how the belt fits the rear pulley with the larger front 99mm variator. How the belt rode all the way up the variator. Made for a great budget over range.

I think I found the perfect belt. The Polini 248.041, which is for a Aerox 100cc seems to be a great fit. You may need to shim the variator slightly, I used 1.5mm of shim. You will also shim the clutch/TD out from the case. The Malossi overrange shim kit 0812036 would work perfect if you don’t what to file and make your own. The belt rides to the edge at rest and full speed. I hope this will help someone out. BTW this is tested on a Zuma engine (02-11)

Just in case I lose out on a getting hold of a malossi overrange at half price .
I am looking to follow your lead here. The shims for the rear pulley did you use the malossi shims or did you just use spacers ,I have a fastenal not far from me to source parts .
Do you have specs for the rear shims so I know what range to get ahold of .

The Malossi shim kit is perfect if you happen to be ordering other parts throw one in the cart. The idea is just to keep the pulley from contacting the transmission cover. The dimensions are: 16mm OD 12.9mm ID 2.5mm thick image url host

Thanks The pictures helped alot I was going to shim out from the transmission case and that did not seem right Being up close to the bearing seal .
I will just order the shim kit With the Top performance torque driver and polini belt.

Just Installed today . It Kicks Harder at takeoff with the lower gearing
If you already have kitted and piped and thrown on gears this would be a next mod
If you want the budget overange pick up these parts . malossi variator part 5177075 ,malossi fan 617152,malossi shim kit 812036 ,top performance torque driver polini belt 248.041 The polini belt after properly shimmed left less than 2 mm on the outer edge front pulley and hit rock bottom on theinner edge . I did have to lower my weights in my variator by 1/2 gram from 5.5 gram sliders to 5 gram sliders to get the same shift points ,My Next R pipe peak power is in the 8600-9100 range .
By doing this you go from stock pulleys of 93 mm on front and 115 mm on back to the malossi at 97 mm on front to 122 mm with the top performance pulley .
A big Thanks to ryan_ott for doing the home work on this .

I don’t mind helping fellow enthusiasts out. If someone’s hard work helps out one other person then it’s worth the effort. Isn’t that what this forum is about, helping others...
Glad it’s working out for you.
