A month ago I bought a junked YW50 motor. A week ago I bought ruckus frame and front suspension. What to do...what to do! After starring at the frame, and learning that the GET motor is a top mount, I lined it on top of the YW motor to see how close we are looking. The engine mount tube, if trimmed a few cm on both sides, will fit between the stock ruckus engine mount tabs. The engine mount tabs will need to be opened up to 12mm dia hole for the stock Yamaha YW engine bolt to pass through them. The only part that will need additional consideration is clearance for the YW carb around the Ruckus frame cross member. Maybe I can look into a forward facing carb manifold. Once I confirm the carb clearance issue, I'll measure up to find the appropriately sized shock. Since scoot shocks come in a variety of lengths, that should be a bolt on affair. I know that I can buy a bolt on ruckus-zuma engine mount but those typically generate a stretched wheelbase ( and cost more than double what I'm into this project for already!). I'm not crazy about building a lowered stretched Ruckus either, I just want a beater. PICS:

I like forward facing carb as a solution.
I've been thinking a lot about 2t ruckus' lately. looking forward to seeing what you do with this!

Minutes after getting my SSS order, I had the rear shock mocked up. It turned out exactly as I had planned. It's a stock 230mm shock from a TNG Venice with a S23 shock riser which is good for a 20mm extension. As you can see, there is not much room to clear the stock YW50 rear tire ( 130 series ). This setup is why I wanted to stick with a skinny spring shock. Anything wider is not going to fit. The shock does have an angle to it but I don't care! I am just waiting for the final piece to the puzzle: a 12mm OD, 10mm ID tube to use inside the stock Yamaha motor mount tube, so I can use the stock ruckus 10mm engine mount bolt. I decided against opening up the ruckus engine mount tabs for safety reasons. More pics!

I like that shock mount. Much better than the usual style ones with lots of holes in.

Looks great man, gonna be a fun scoot! I saw swap shop had adapter brackets for like $600 bucks...whuuuuutttt I saw that too. It is an expensive piece considering what we spend on other scooter parts. For the engineering and machine time and convenience to bolt in a 2t, it's not bad. I'm just cheap and I don't want a stretched Ruckus. For anyone that wants to try this, I started by cutting 7.5mm off the right side Yamaha Zuma engine tube. Then I trimmed the other side to make sure it fits inside the Honda GET engine mount. It looks pretty good if I say so myself. Still waiting on my 1mm wall tubing to make the 10mm GET engine mount bolt work with the 12mm yamaha engine mount tube. It's a tight fit but it looks good enough.

Yea, looks good for sure man. I wouldn't pay $600 for a bracket either unless I just had an abundance of cash and its something I couldn't make myself. Looking at your scoot I'm a bit confused. I have only owned prebug and jogs, is the zuma 2t different than a prebug? I see it looks like a long case but had horizontal cylinder.

To be honest, I am not intimate with all of the differences between the pre-bug and bug-eye motors. I know that pre-bugs are vertical cylinder and the bug-eye are horizontal. Beyond that, I am not really sure. Maybe chadbullet could enlighten us on the differences? I have more experience with the mina clones. Around here, pre-bugs aren't for sale often and when they are, they are priced at a premium. I am not about spending that kinda of money to get into one. Even at that, the only bug-eyes that I have purchased were wrecked but the motors were good

The horizontal minarelli has the reedblock on the case rather than the cylinder. It's a much more efficient design.

For sure, I have always ran Mina clones. Only recently got into pre-bugs and after looking at the intake design, it's clear the vertical intake is way more efficient. Like a modern day dirtbike. I just wasn't aware there was a long case horizontal.

Sweet! It’ll be a fun build for sure. Yea, prebugs bring a premium. I just bought a red prebug out of the Austin area. I now have 2 and a jog that I'm considering turning into a drag scoot.
