Yeah I haven’t gotten that far into it. Trying to figure it all out a step at a time.

I'm cleansing the garage of bugeye stuff as I transition to jog/short case stuff only. Staring at a jog that I've been building, then staring at my ruckus, I swapped em out. That left the front end sort out. I ordered -3in forks from jst4shwrucks.com/ Waiting for those to ship. Next up is a narrow stem, either stock metro or Dio After that is a lowered NCY seat frame, and drag bars. Pics:

Pics: A Metro stem will work for the frame, but be aware that how the bars attach is totally different than how the Ruckus bars do. They are not directly swappable. I don’t remember if the Metro stem is long enough to clear the battery box. @happypancakes will remember that tidbit. Zen Kustumz makes adapters www.zenkustumz.com/category/adapters

I don’t see why not, but it may be a bit taller than you’re hoping (I honestly don’t know). If I wasn’t so lazy, I’d link to my build page from back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, and you can see what I’m talking about.

Update! jst4shwrucks.com/ shocks came in. I went with the -3in version. I got them within a week of placing my order. I cannot wait to install these. Also, a super awesome member on the forum here sent me a gas tank! It is soooo close to hitting the spark plug. I am thinking that I'll be fine if I run a shorty spark plug.

Met stem adapter pics. Let’s see if I can do this on my phone And these showed up over the weekend.

Just had a thought about the bar setup.
Why not drill the metropolitan stem to have the same through-hole that the ruck stem has? That way I can use the drag bar I want.

Maybe? But I’m not sure if they’re the same length.

I am now using a Vino 50cc rear shock with a S23 shock riser. Also notice the NCY seat mount. Lowering it this much allows me to ditch the janky hose clamp putting tension on the motor mount for carb clearance. It being this low also allows me to use the stock fuel tank without needing clearance for the spark. Progress pics below show ignition mounting. Next up: Have a friend fix the leaks in the fuel tank, buy a mikuni kart fuel pump to get it upstream to the carb.

No pics on this update. Parts will hopefully be here by next week.
-Mikuni fuel pump on the way. -Just pulled the trigger on the skinnier Metropolitan stem. I'm looking forward to seeing how this is going to work on the ruckus.

A month ago I bought a junked YW50 motor. A week ago I bought ruckus frame and front suspension. What to do...what to do! After starring at the frame, and learning that the GET motor is a top mount, I lined it on top of the YW motor to see how close we are looking. The engine mount tube, if trimmed a few cm on both sides, will fit between the stock ruckus engine mount tabs. The engine mount tabs will need to be opened up to 12mm dia hole for the stock Yamaha YW engine bolt to pass through them. The only part that will need additional consideration is clearance for the YW carb around the Ruckus frame cross member. Maybe I can look into a forward facing carb manifold. Once I confirm the carb clearance issue, I'll measure up to find the appropriately sized shock. Since scoot shocks come in a variety of lengths, that should be a bolt on affair. I know that I can buy a bolt on ruckus-zuma engine mount but those typically generate a stretched wheelbase ( and cost more than double what I'm into this project for already!). I'm not crazy about building a lowered stretched Ruckus either, I just want a beater. PICS: This is something I've wanted to do 2t in a ruckes

They only imported them in officially for two years. So twenty years later the prices are higher than new!
