Beta Ark '01 "Hyper Race"

Last summer I got this (in my opinion) somewhat rare beuty. Got it really cheap(bout 150$ give or take) with a clean title because it was not running(coil was wired wrong so easy fix .Plastics were complete but in miserable condition so I just painted them quickly.Few months forward i got myself a Airsal 70cc aluminum kit and a S6 Sport Pro CVT parts and paired it with 19mm Dellorto and,saddly TT exhaust. But it runs strong and doesnt break a sweat.So naturally what do you do when you get a cheap scoot?...make it go as fast as possible.So I decided to go with full Stage6 R/T.Currently in the process of getting all the parts together but the main holdup will be the crank(avaliable not before October ).I hope I will remember to post the progress here as this is the first time I build a "Hyper-Race" setup so any mistakes can be pointed out to me.Here are some pictures of the Beta so far.

First part(and to me most important) just arrived.Sad thing is I still can just look at it,but atleast I can portmatch the adapter to the case.

interesting looking scoots and sweet kit you got there happy to have you on the forum î started out with similar story as u, and you can see my first hyper race build on here...
once you go hyper race u never go back.

What setup would be better in your opinion? I know both are equaly bad but it is what it is.Rear carb mount is not happening right now because I dont feel like welding and making a new subframe(because i cant find one for purchase).And by any chance if anybody has an Aerox subframe could they measure the distance between the frame mounting points on it and post ih here.

I would think either of those are going to suffer from movement and rubbing when running.
Couldn't you use a spacer for the feed block?

There is already a spacer between reeds and the case (supplied with S6 reeds and 5mm thick if I am not wrong) if thats what you mean.

They come in different thickness.

Would that affect the performance to a significant degree?

Don't think it affects anything, engine doesn't care how far away the carb is.

Throttle plate injection, carb on high rise intake manifold, all make power, as long as the air fuel makes it to the combustion chamber.

So you lifting the carb up to clear the cylinder, you will just have a high rise intake manifold, lol port matched 😆

It changes the characteristics slightly. But if you look at how many big high performance motors run a spacer. It's a lot.

I was able to remove some material from the water pump side so the carb can fit more to the left.Now there is no contact anywhere between the carb and cylinder/case.Still going to put some sort of rubber or whatever between closest points. I will try it this way and see how it works out.


And also i thought about that angled adapter but also thats not happening because the seat mount is directly above the carb and even now its quite tight

Also prior to this I removed the engine to inspect the head gasket because i was running low on coolant every 4 to 5 days.Indeed it was blown on one spot but the main thing i found was the type of O ring wall cracking Brent had on his TPR heads,but in this case grooves are in the cylinder.Hopefully it wont affect sealing much.Just something you dont expect after maybe 150-200km
