lol That's a great vid. I get my share of odd looks just wearing a FF, gloves, jeans, and a riding jacket. I've crashed enough to know it sucks though. Asphalt doesn't seem to realize I was riding a scooter before I hit it and take it easy on me.

lol Asphalt doesn't seem to realize I was riding a scooter before I hit it and take it easy on me. Yeah its like hitting really rough and hungry sand paper with microscopic razor teeth. Or what I imagine the meat grinder at the butcher shop has inside it. As for the video...this is what he was thinking....'Miss I need you to take some of your clothes off...you might get too hot and pass out..then crash...so lose some of those clothes babe!..i mean miss!' typical maple pig dog

I think this is why I get so many smirks and thumbs up from cops while I'm out on my motard blatantly having a bit of fun. Most of my male friends get dirty looks/pulled over simply because they're on a motorcycle. Hehe. I've had cops drop their radar gun for me and act like they didn't see me more than once. Life's just not fair sometimes. ;-)

Didn't work on the scoot yesterday, but did work on the motorcycle. FINALLY got the carb sorted (mostly... as close as it's gonna get without getting it dynoed). Enjoyed a whopping 40mph today. Hehe. I was in love with the massively improved throttle response.
Carbs are wonderful... when they work properly.
The scoot is on hiatus until my next paycheck. It needs tires and a shift lever, and I simply do not have the funds. It's one of the downsides to living paycheck to paycheck.

Oh! Specifics:
I'm getting the infamous Pirelli scoot tires, the SL26.
I've given up on trying to track down/fix/etc. the shift mechanism. The shift shaft itself is bent, the threads are half stripped, it's loose at both ends...
If that weren't enough, the whole footpeg-is-one-mounted-piece-with-the-heel-toe-shifter is just a really stupid design.
The simplest route is to remove the entire external shift shaft and heel/toe shifter mechanism. In its place, I will simply replace the whole thing with the cheapest dirt bike shift lever I can find. I will place it directly on the spline, backwards (facing towards the footpeg, so I can reach it), and just enjoy the world's cheapest GP shift setup. Found an aftermarket shift lever for $11, designed originally for a Suzuki RM125, but it will do.
Am I a genius, or what? (lol... Don't answer that.)
Now, I do need your advice. The poor rear shock (monoshock setup) is totally shot. A large man was using (abusing) this poor scooter. I've been browsing for the cheapest possible aftermarket shock. Trouble is, it's like an 8 or 9 inch shock. I cannot find anything online less than 10", which leads me to believe this shock is just sinking that badly, even without load. It probably was a 10" to begin with. Besides, it would be a bit more comfortable (not to mention more flickable) with another inch or so in the seat height. Even if it's off a bit, it would still work, you know?
I'm willing to buy a cheap shock, because I'm only 100lbs, and I bought this scooter to save money. For now, I'm not yet willing to do any pricey aftermarket anything. Hell, I'm going to put an FMF sticker on the exhaust cover after I drill out the baffle. That's my redneck "FMF exhaust." LOL The goal here is cheap and simple.
The best I'm finding is around $30, but these are non-adjustable. I'm cheap, but not THAT cheap. Well, maybe I am. It depends if there's not something out there that is either WAY cheaper (but would still work decent), or if you guys know of a great deal on an adjustable shock. I've browsed a few sites, including eBay, but no decent luck yet.

At least it's not bent. I bent a shock on a small bike years ago. lol That didn't make me feel like a fatass or anything.
I just put in sizes and shock on eBay and google searches usually, then examine the pics to make sure it's the right mounting style on both ends. Try mm and inch measurements for your searches for more results. Another thing I do for scoots is just search scooter shock on eBay and a lot of used stuff comes up. If you can find something that looks right at a good price, ask the seller for an eye to eye measurement and/or start searching to see if you can find what size that scoot's shock should be.
One thing to consider if you raise the rear is that you will be putting more weight on your arms. The pic looks like you're about a level ride height, so if you tilt it forward too much it may be less comfortable.

The shock's spring rate is a concern also. There are many different shock locations, linkages, angles, etc. that will make huge changes in spring rate..
