There's no clutch! And it's 49cc... It's like a wannabe scooter/motorcycle hybrid. I am defending Jazz's honor here. LOL I named it Little Jazz. What I really wanted was a Ruckus, but I only had a few hundred dollars to spend. If I come into extra money for some reason, you can bet I'll be picking up another Chinese scoot like the one I used to have. Gosh, that thing was a riot... when I wasn't fixing it all the time. LOL I put 2300 miles on that scoot in less than 4 months. That's an impressive amount of saddle time, when you top speed is 35 on flat ground and about 15 uphill. Scooters are a blast. So... can I at least be "honorary scooter rider?" Also, I get teased by "real motorcyclists" all the time that my Kawasaki is "just a scooter," because it's "so small." (Seat height is about 35 inches, so I'm assuming they mean weight and engine displacement). These are the same "real riders" who essentially have garage ornaments, have never ridden in the rain, and probably thing a powerband is a physical engine component.

I still look at it as more like a midbike because of it's design. There are scoots and moped/nopeds out there with a very similar engine and whatever it gets classified as, it fits in here as does it's owner. I'm glad to have both of you here and welcome you into the 49ccScoot family. ;D I love my 2T, but I'm still jealous of the BadBoy. I would own one if I could legally ride it here, but MD shares 2strokd's opionon that it's not a moped or scooter.

You know that my motard is also named "Skeeter" (spelled differently)? It's because the front of it looks like an angry, scowling mosquito. The mirrors are the antennas, the fender is the stabby sucker thing (industry term? lol), and the headlight is like its eyes, with it's eyebrows angrily scowling down. Like this: but with a poker thing instead of a mouth. ...I just realized I don't have a picture that perfectly captures this anthropomorphism best, but combining these gets pretty close:

WI it's classified as a Moped as long as it's not more than 50cc, unless it's a "motor bicycle" a bicycle with a motor attached to it. Then there's the usual speed restrictions, 30mph here. I think Jazz would be called a mini bike around here. At least back in the day. 35" is still too high for me though
