Missouri classifies it as a scooter. And in Missouri, anything under 50cc doesn't need to be plated, registered, insured, etc. Horray for Missouri!
I think the seat height on Jazz is about 26-28? LOL It feel so little compared to what I've been used to riding. I practically need an oxygen tank and a ladder to mount Skeeter.

I could see Jazz being a fun ride As long as it has the lights it's street legal. At least we don't have the emmision tests yet. My Retro's are 27" seat height, and fits perfect. We pretty much have to register everthing around here. Even bicycles in towne are supposed to have plates.

That is cool you can ride it as a "scooter" there. How is it coming anyhow? Anymore progress? :chinese: Hehe, ide love a 80cc L/C shifter 2T on something like that  . I know..... "go figure" right?

Tomorrow is the final touches! I need to make this thing into like a mini-documentary. I could make a bunch of short YT videos of each step... but I think one really great "rebuild saga" type video with a big reveal at the end would be awesome. It won't get as many views, but I'd be a lot more proud of it.

Missouri gives this one a pass, I promise. It has gears, but it's clutchless. Totally passes for scoot. Don't know how this one got under the radar, but it did. So much win!

New video!
Decided to try it out without the pipe, while we had it off to modify it. I have other video of better walkarounds, but this will show you how far it's come from "new" [to me... poor, neglected thing]. It starts first kick every time, with almost zero effort.
Notice the new handlebars (from a 1988 CRF100), the epic "Hot Wheels" handlebar pad, bar end mirrors, GSXR stickers all removed, and turn signals all replaced. Woot! It's getting there...

I'm sure you two have it covered, but just gotta mention to make sure you check the tune after modding the muffler. Most likely it'll be fine if it was before, but it doesn't take that long to ride and observe as well as check the plug.

You can actually get a throaty sound from them with the right exhaust. Hehe, cant get over it... Its cool! I want one! A 2T one

Here's a better update/walkaround of all that's going on so far:

Question.... How hard would it be to convert this to fully automatic? I've never seen a fully auto chain driven before.

Cant be done to that one,get a scooter if you want a CVT drive system, make it a 2 stroke if you want to haul buggy!
Finally got to see the shifter problem, like you said its the front rod end bearing.replacing that by drilling out the riveted ball and bolting on a good rod end should take most of the slop out..

Looks much better! Glad to see the GSXR stickers gone Cool idea with the sticker!!! :thumb:
Why did that shifter work? After seeing the set-up more clearly, im picturing that style shifter on it. Similar to some sportbike shifters. Or any other shifter, just backwards.

It's set up like that, due to it being a heel-toe shifter. I hate it. And trying to find parts or fix it is essentially useless. My best bet is to buy an offset shifter and install it backwards. I had the right idea, but the wrong part. The one I got was just too big.

Thats what i meant Yeah, i would go that route. If you can weld or have access to a welder and a person to weld, maybe you could take the stock piece that clamps to the shift-shaft on the engine and weld another shifter to it and mount it backwards like you said?
