You actually can get those engines in full auto, but they're slower than the semi-auto, and the semi-auto is slower than the full manual. I dunno the details of the autos in those. You could swap the whole engine in, not sure what the diffs are in the clutch and trans, if they're just swap parts of maybe the cases are different.

Turns out the shift lever off of a CRF50 should work just fine. I should have guessed, since the engine is essentially a Honda knockoff. Honda parts swap the easiest.

JAZZ IS HERE! He got a good detailing and polishing this evening. Pirelli tires installed, brakes adjusted, chain adjusted. All shiny. Still on the list:
The "temporary fix" of the CRF50 shift lever is still there. Need to find a local welder for the stock lever. The CRF lever makes shifting this thing a one-legged exercise bike. LOL I'll be hunting down a welder, pronto. Before I do, I'll get some video of where I'm having it welded, and why. It's genius.
The CRF lever is also held on with a zip tie. LOL "That's totally safe, officer..."
I'll be riding it to work tomorrow (just a short commute). So, of course I'll vlog the virgin ride and do a proper walkaround in the morning. My roommates want me to ride up and down the street in my pink pajamas on the thing. Long story on how that dare came about. I'm seriously considering it.
Anyway! Pictures to follow! It's just dark out there and late. And my KLX is half apart next to it. Couldn't get the bead to break for the life of me. I think I'm gonna buy a C-clamp at the hardware store and make a makeshift bead breaker.

Just ordered some 49ccScoot decals for the bike, and a keychain. :chinese:

I'm lost as to how the CRF lever is zip-tied on. :dunno: Should just slide over the shaft coming from the engine and have a bolt to tighten it to that. I can't image a zip tie keeping it tight, so I'm confused. That's normal for me though.
Also, thank you for picking up some 49cc gear.

COoL on the gear! Wish i could help with the shifter. Maybe its just me? But in the vids it looks to be a simple fix. I mean that with no disrespect at all. I just keep picturing a normal shifter mounted backwards and bent to suit the rider. Some heat and or a welder may be necessary?

I have the CRF lever on there backwards. That's the trouble-- the threading, then, is upside down, if you will. Can't get the bolt through to tighten it on there. It works great, though! It's a serious workout, though, because of how short the lever has to be.... eh, you'll see in the video/pictures, coming later. Went out for a short ride this evening and had a riot! Didn't want to stop. Kept going past my street but never turning home. I forgot how fun 50's are... and how painfully gutless uphill . WEEEEE!!!!! :riding:

Oh, I gotcha now. Been a while since I had to work with shifters.

Maybe drill the threads out of the shifter bolt hole and use a hard 6mm bolt(grade 10.9) and nut??

Maybe drill the threads out of the shifter bolt hole and use a hard 6mm bolt(grade 10.9) and nut?? I did consider this, but it's not worth it when it's just a temp fix until I can get the stock shifter a couple tack welds in two spots (really all it needs). It took less than 10 miles for me to get used to it. I apparently suck at downshifting without a clutch, though. LOL My timing is terrible. It's much different than what I'm used to. I can't "blip the throttle to match engine speed to road speed" before downshifting, because that would only make the bike lurch, as I can't disengage the clutch... there is no clutch. But, if I wait too long, I can't downshift once moving too slowly and it will stall if I come to a stop in a gear other than 1st or 2nd. LOL Semi-automatics are freaks of nature. I have decided. Riding this thing is so sketch. I look like a total newb. Speaking of newb, I would not let an inexperienced rider try this thing. Anyway, that's all boring.... The last one is a self-portrait. Do you see me?

Thanks, mate!
Here's an update! The proper ride/walkaround video is still rendering. It's a massive 1080p behemoth.
In the mean time, here's the garage update footage, showing what's been done and finished off with a quite accidental "that's what she said":

If you don't have a 3 wire flasher, I'd try one of those before adding in a second flasher. The three wire adds a ground and they seem to be able to handle different loads much better.
For posting pics, that's not a forum software limitation. I've made a lot of posts with tons of pics in them. Not sure what to tell you on that one.
