Next time take more straps or rope You can even buy the rope for cheap at a local DIY or hardware store. Over on this side of the pond even Dollar stores and Quick Trips & 7-Eleven stores carry it in packages suitable for tying down a load. I know flies and moths may escape your wallet when it opens but WTF milly ... Even I carried some straps and rope with me behind the seat in my pickup trucks along with jumper cables and a tool kit. My pickups were working vehicles with scratches and dents in the bed. They also had more than two cylinders for a motor. I still carry that stuff in a box in my old van. I even carried some kit under the seat in my scoot. You have a nice trailer, -carry supplies! An old gym bag or ammo can holds a bit of kit. Damn I wish my old body still had some muscles in it That chrome may clean up with aluminuminumiuminum foil dipped in vinegar and rubbed over it.

Open my wallet FrankenMech whatever next! The next couple of months are going to be very, very lean after being shafted at work of almost £3,000 but that's another story. Well today taxed and insured said bike, got it running up and took to town for a coffee. Checked it over there and the sea air has certainly done it no favours but will clean up eventually when I get round to it. Putting it away tonight and noticed a bare wire connector on the spaghetti between the forks which needs sorting and leaky fork seals. I then turned the steering to see if it was stiffening up from lock to lock and noticed one way it didn't clunky like metal to metal and when I inspected it was a wire maybe 2 crushed between the stop's so pulled them out the way and will do a quick repair before I use it for work till Owens part's arrive for the Suzuki and I got the scooter back. It will then come off the road for proper inspection, think the front tyre will be replaced to as don't put much faith in a tyre called Golden Boy being much use in the wet.

I got shafted of almost $8000 at work also. They will fork you over any way they can.
Motorcycle will definitely need some TLC.

Today I noticed the steering is slightly to the right for straight ahead so that will need inspection when time allows. Parts all here now for other son's Suzuki so get that done tomorrow morning hopefully and off then there's room in the garage for the scooter and the motorbike can go to the back out the way for time being. Did notice coming out of meeting the lovely smell of petrol tonight but no leak or patches on the ground so that can be siphoned off for other use before residing in garage and stinking it out. Ah also new chain and sprockets. 🫣

Little bit of a false start this morning. Tried to fire it up and no spark. I forgot to put the wires back on the coil. Then it would run but not pick up revs. Looked on ground and petrol leak. Discovered fuel bowl has a corroded a hole in itself. Now awaiting carb 😁.

JB WELD ? or some of that gas tank epoxy. I have used a blind pop rivet on holes in carbs etc. Drill it out to a standard size, coat the hole and rivet with epoxy and squeeze it in. Wipe off the excess epoxy.
Works on aholes also.
Damn ethanol fuel causes all kinds of hell over here.

Milly has more twists and turns in his bike fixing jobs than a good thriller.

Must be strange mutations over there that cause all of those twisted bikes.

This lunchtime I changed the tubeless new tyre on the Hyosung in 15 mins once wheel was of unif and on tyre machine. So much easier than tubed. Later this afternoon spent about same amount of time draining fuel out the tank ready to put new tap on later when cooler.

Nice looking -tyre- thingy! Kind of fuzzy though, must get those hairs knocked off. I have changed plugged and patched thousands of tires and tubes, Tubes are a real PITA, split rims are even worse. As a youngster my hands were strong enough to change and patch bicycle tires without tools. Tubes on those were not a problem but I have never changed or patched a motorcycle or scooter tire.

Anlas snow and mud tyres made in Turkey really good for the roads round here. For the last few years is what I always put if available on bike's and scooters. Bicycle tyres except racing bike ones I can mostly pull off by hand, well the mountain bike ones but have found in recent times when kids bikes in school need puncture doing even mountain bikes now need tyre levers as I get older.

Tonight's "little"job turned into a sketch. Tank removal fine but then had to hunt a cable tie to re position wiring loom as was in the wrong place. Then undo and re route clutch cable. Changed tap and one of the copper washers looks like it's disintegrating. So being tight thought I would put petrol in tank and leave for a while to see if any seepage, missed the filler neck and soaked whole outside of tank so couldn't see for a bit and when I did get round to putting it on there may be a slight weep or it's from my attempt to fill the tank. If it is in the morning will sling the tank off and get a new copper washer before putting more petrol in. Then I went to fit the fuel line, sits on tap fine but being 8mm i.d. didn't fit carb so for temp use thought use old line and squeeze that on tank job done. Nope old line gone bitty and brittle so screwed new line to the old left over bit of line with filter on it so now has two filters. Tomorrow is another day so it can wait.
