i always make sure to park by the door, or infront of cameras when not on the scoot, when im at home, its locked to a telephone pole, by the frame, or i keep it in my little add-on room. i'd like to get a centerstand lock soon though, maybe a regular chainlock from the centerstand/kickstand to the front/rear wheel would work just as good? and i know, its such a pitty, the US government trying their best to take away our "free"dom of driving vehicles. on something so small, i think it should be up to us to pay for a new scoot/get mine fixed and pay the other cars tiny dents and scratches, if its our fault. but regardless, if they did make us pay taxes to have them on the road, i'd certainly pay them just for my love of scoots. Hi I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your state imho will be changing their laws concerning scooters in the near future Its the people who try to get around the laws who are creating the problems www.wthr.com/story/15505889/lawmakers-to-consider-indianas-scooter-lawTake care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank

YEAH that's exactly what it's all about, the extra REVENUE to the state coffers to squander away as usual for doing nothing, not to mention the insurance companies getting in on the action TOO.

exactly. as much as i'd hate to go through those pains, i would...its such a shame that his wife tattle tailed on him though lol Whats more amazing is she KNEW her hubby was riding this thing 60 MPH and didnt do a thing to stop it. Under current state law, they're only prohibited on the interstate. But his widow says he had his illegally modified to go much faster.
"His went up to 60mph...He had it bored out," said Jackson. There you go, all those who get the big bore kits on their 49 cc scooters and take out the restrictors to go faster, more accidents, deaths and now new laws and more will be the direct result. Once they pass that stuff in one state you can bet others will follow the lead, after all, they will cite that their next door neighbor state does X, Y, and Z so so should they.

I used to have a business that dealt with clients all over the world - Israel, England, Australia, Central and South America, Canada - everywhere. It seems the new thing to do (globally and even inside our own borders) is to bash the United States. And, to be completely blunt, it really pisses me off.
The United States is a country that, if you're so incredibly unhappy here, you are free to leave whenever you choose. In fact, there are even tax advantages for you to leave and I'll be more than happy to help you find the cheapest airline ticket out (but not first class, as that would be gluttonous). With all of our shortcomings, we are still the greatest nation on the planet. We still have the greatest opportunity for personal and financial growth; advantages for start-ups; an incredible standard of living (even for the lower middle-class to the poor in comparison to the poor of other nations around the globe); and one of the easiest ways for us to create change in our political system. Whenever there is a crisis anywhere around the globe - whether it be political unrest, natural or man-made disaster or needed military assistance - where do the world's eyes turn? Yes, to the United States.
My question to the starter of this thread and the people who are U.S. citizens that have replied with almost hateful things about your own country is this - What are you doing to create the kind of change that you're seeking? Are you simply spouting off at the mouth or are you getting up off your butt to do something? Are you taking advantage of the many, many ways we have in this country to improve our personal and overall situation or are you much happier sitting there doing nothing, but complaining?
And, my question to the people of other countries that joined in the U.S. bashing is this - If you're so incredibly unhappy with our country, are you willing to stop watching our television shows, asking for our financial aid, military assistance, driving our cars, wearing our clothes and listening to our music? Are you willing to stop importing into the country you seem to dislike so much and stop using our "gluttonous" citizens as some of your best customers?

One of the greatest things about being an American is the FREEDOM to express our views.
I love my country but it has its flaws. I apologize to anyone with delicate sensibilities who is hurt by my opinion...but that will not stop me from expressing it.

You still haven't answered whether or not you're creating change or simply sitting behind your computer complaining. :-)

I am using about 1 gallon of gasoline for every 70 miles I drive...and am setting an example for others to follow. I also sell and repair the same 70-100mpg vehicles so that others can change with me. You can lead an American to fuel efficiency...but you can make them stop chugging Gasoline I show them the way...but they have to WANT to get out of the Air Conditioned Hummer H2.

I think it's wonderful that you're partaking in the free-market system that has set an example for the world. And, congratulations on improving your financial situation while doing something that you believe in! Great country, huh? I wonder how your customers who still drive other vehicles in addition to the scooters that you repair and sell would feel about you calling them idiots.
Please understand that I am far from calling our country perfect. And, please understand that I roll my eyes every time I see a ridiculously sized SUV in downtown that will never even see a dirt road, much less the kind of work that SUV's were originally designed for. However, to call all Americans idiots is not only insulting to me and many others, it's also insulting to yourself, as you seem to be an American.
Btw... when was the last time you over ate at something like a Golden Corral or had a ridiculous amount of food at a restaurant? There are many ways to be gluttonous and I would be willing to bet money that, even though you save money and fuel by driving a scooter, you and many other readers of this are just as guilty of gluttony in some form or another. Gluttony, by itself, does not make a person an "idiot". However, you making those insulting and generalized comments does not exactly make you seem as though you're a MENSA candidate yourself. :-)

How about you? How is your carbon footprint doing? I only drive my scooter or I walk. So, my carbon footprint is baby-sized. :scoot2:

Free to leave hu? I met a few expats in PI they would not agree with you on that. Do some reading before making a comment like that. Little children cant even have a lemonaid stand now without breaking the law. Upward mobility?
We have too many people that can tell us how to run our lives. What tree we can have in our own yards. I love my country. But we have problems.

What is PI? And what reading would you recommend?
As far as breaking the law by having a lemonade stand? Where was a child arrested for having a lemonade stand? I guess if they're under the legal working age.........
