Fair enough. Would you say your build now is roughly equivalent to your 103cc build as far as the feel of power goes? Maybe your next venture can be a streetable hyper race build! Surprisingly close. As far as acceleration, they are pretty well equal. I think the 103 would edge it out by a nose. The 103 would snap the front up easier. Street-hyper-race is kinda hard to define I guess. So far, I'm not seeing why this thing can't be ridden around. I mean I've taken a lot of 5-20 mile rides and one 130+ mile ride. So I have a hyper race cylinder that seems to do just fine for whatever riding I want to do... it's just not hyper race power. Plus, if the 103 is about equal then it could someday have a great advantage over this setup. IF it would seal reliably, the cast iron bore, dual ring setup would surely be the better candidate for every day riding with less tinkering vs the down-tuned 86cc. Assuming I can get it going strong as more of a true hyper-race at some point, I'm not sure if I'll ride it or not. There's the part of me that wants to find out what really happens if you take something with 20 or more HP that revs really high with a light switch throttle out for a long ride. Then there's the part of me that realizes I'm broke and maybe I shouldn't try to tear it up. At very least I will try it at a car show, which will likely be hours on end and 100+ miles. Not sure if that counts though. It's not like it's gonna be rode to the beach unless it proves me wrong and holds up really well. I'm kinda figuring even if the cylinder kit does OK, a whole new level of power will prob stress everything else too.

Maybe there are some hyper race guys of that cc class that would be willing to loan you their pipe for testing..Hint-Hint....

I say go for it with a loaner pipe if you can before you go out and buy a $400 pipe when you’re on a budget. You might find you don’t even enjoy riding the light switch high HP bike and then be stuck with a pipe that doesn’t serve a purpose for you. That HIT clutch all over again...
That being said, hell of a gamble still. You just got the bike running and in a decent state of tune. Would really suck if you end up trashing the motor trying to “street” something that turns out not to be streetable.
In the end, it’s only money and money comes and goes though. If you lose some, you’ll only miss it for a short while. I think the risk, experience, and possible reward is worth it. After this, you’ll have a better understanding of the build’s limits and possibly a really badass beach cruiser haha.

Everybody send your cylinder and pipe to Brent for testing. Most likely I won't put more than 1 hole in each piston. I changed the drive belt today. Only 0.5mm wear, but figured I might as well. 20 mile belt break-in ride. It's just over 60F today and the thing was running about 105-110 coolant temp. I cleaned the wheels while it cooled off and then changed the plug. Don't think I really needed to do that either.

There’s the solution to your financial woes Brent. Everyone send your scooter to him and he’ll do the tuning, recording, editing, uploading, and riding for a fee haha!
Seriously though, if I lived closer, I’d pay to have you tune my bike lol. Much more thorough than myself and I can never find time. Maybe you should trade the truck in for a van and start a traveling scooter tuning company. Scootertuning.brent hahaha

I'm all loaded up for Endless Summer Cruisin'. Prob leave in a couple of hours to meet Ryan and perhaps another member with a Zuma and a Stage6 MKII 70. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll see many other scoots. The rentals aren't usually out much unless the weather is really nice for scooting. That's OK though, I have fun riding around alone on one 2T so 2-3 two-strokes should be pretty entertaining. The storm has stayed off coast way more than anticipated early in the week when I thought the show may be washed out. Gonna be a little chilly at the beach and pretty windy, but that's better than getting rained on and having no cars come out. Wind will be out of the north on roads that lead north and south, so we'll be faster going one way than the other. Gotta remember to try to race more people when heading southbound. lol

I posted about the show here : 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/25866/endless-summer-scootin-2019-strokesHad a question though. Figured John or someone would know. So it seems that T2 smokes way more than the other 2Ts. Ryan and I even run the same oil and same mix. I don't doubt that T2 is rich either... bit it's a big difference. I'm making clouds and I don't even see much out of theirs. That made us curious. Could it be that the Penton style muffler without packing allows it to smoke more. Perhaps the packing absorbs some of the oil? I don't have much to compare to. The last pipe that I used before this was a PG and it also smoked hard and also didn't use packing. Maybe I just tune way rich.

Sometimes after tuning especially after getting it wrong and go super rich I can cover the walls of my shop with 2t sludge out the exhaust and it smokes like a bastard.
It wouldn't surprise me if you found it smoked a bunch for a bit.. but if it's always smoking I would lean more towards you have a rich spot someplace that loads the exhaust up with sludge..

The Penton style muffler can collect excess oil by its design, there 'should' be a small hole drilled at the base of the weld joint between the baffle cone and muffler extension, might have got clogged OR never drilled!1/16 to 3/32" will allow the excess spooge to be ejected so that unsightly plume of blue smoke doesnt harm the planet!!!

After riding next to and behind T2 for a few hours my comment to Brent was “I’m going to have lung cancer by the end of the night”.
