Try to cut the airflow somehow. Maybe an appropriate sized plastic soda bottle cut down and slipped over the uni. Sadly, this is what I was thinking. I remember using this carb prob 15 years ago on T1 with a 103cc. It would be OK then do this then be OK, depending on the weather. Fit an airbox and never looked back. Not sure I can fit much of anything right now. That's why I've got a low profile amazon pod filter. With no body on T2, I used this same setup with a remote airbox. Not so easy with panels.

Wrap the filter with a plastic bag that has holes in it.

The airbox that I was using with the 86cc on T2 is a larger one intended for big bores. I had one original airbox modified , but one mounting tab was gone and the other was cracked. I realized that it may be able to fit, but it needs at least one mount. I used a hot staple and soldering gunned some zip tie juice over it. Then I made 2 thin metal pieces to sandwich it and a piece of plastic to fill the hole and make it 6mm. The metal pieces were quickly JB Welded on. There was no room for the big coupler that I normally use for securing the hose, but the hose goes in really tight so I added some Gorilla Tape for good measure and bolted it up. That didn’t solve the issue, but improved it. I also like it quiet. With the Yasuni silencer that I adapted to the MHR exhaust and an airbox, it’s quite tame. Then it was time to get ready for the car show. The belt had a little over 80 miles on it since swapping to the new rear pulley that I hoped would save me from constant belt changes. It was at 16.95mm from about 17.5 new. The last belt, used with my modified pulley that I thought was the problem, was 17.1mm after 155 miles. I was crushed. I put a bunch of cash into that pulley because I expected it to save countless belts and end my anxiety about how many miles was on a belt before any ride. It’s worse! I’m lost at this point. Not much I can do right now, so I’m going back to the modified pulley. I took the clutch off to find it with residue on it again. I also found the seal on the primary drive shaft leaking. I cleaned everything and put the newer seals in the old torque driver because it looked like too much grease was passing those. I wanted to see if more spring pressure would make it take off harder so I used a 32kg Polini spring for Piaggio (one step down from what input in the rc1 to reduce slip). I had to take a little off of the OD of the plastic part that sits under Polini’s spring seat and little off of the ID of the spring seat to fit over the TD. Otherwise, it fit fine. A new ETon drive shaft came in, so I got ambitious and was going to replace that since I had to do the seal anyway. I decided to cut it to fit a Piaggio compensator ring to interact with the CVT cover bearing. That went terribly. It didn’t want to cut with HSS bits for me. I switched to carbide and it cut in small bites. Then it suddenly just dug in and took a chunk out! Ugh. No time to even think about fixing that, so I just got it back together with a new belt and guessed at 5g sliders. I took it for a test ride and RPM is good right off the line, drops into the 12s and then goes over 14k at the end of a run. Way too much RPM spread, but it wasn’t super slow so I said to heck with it. It’s good enough to ride around at a car show. So I may have totally ruined a brand new drive shaft (possibly going to put some welds on it and see if it will hold up after machining) and wasted a lot of money on a pulley. Feels awesome! Plus made it slower timing it up for the car show. Oh well. At least this is the slow one anyway. Just to add insult to injury, my friend that was supposed to try to go with me Saturday and ride T1 has decided he may take his kids to the show. Same thing he did at bike week. At least Friday some other scoot folks are coming out. One of them has made wheelie bars for his scoot so it’s getting serious. LOL

I went to the car show Friday and Saturday with both scoots. Friday, some scoots were supposed to be there around noon so I got there and unloaded by noon. Wound up doing laps alone for 3 1/2 hours on T1 before anyone else was actually there. Met up with 4 scoots, all one family, and rode another lap and a half with them. I took off at a light beside a 150 and when I looked back they were basically gone. Then I saw one that must have took off too turn off just behind me so I turned around and couldn't find anyone. Met up later back at the truck because I figured I might as well switch over to T2 while we tried to get back in touch. Apparently the 150 stalled when he throttled fast. I had everyone in the group covered with T1 (stock 150s and a Malaguti Phantom with a pipe) but another guy was coming with a modified Jog that he just put wheelie bars on so T2 needed to come out. Met up with the other guy around 7 and he was on his mostly stock "200" (I think 170 or so actually) because he couldn't get the carb just right on the Jog. Did a lap with everyone aside from a woman that was too cold to ride anymore. Then the group of 4 packed up and left and another friend showed up, but he was still in his car with his son with him. They wanted to go to Wawa and get something to eat. Wawa is the spot at OC car shows. It's absolutely packed and traffic is dense right around it. I have no great desire to stand around a parking lot with that many people, though it does turn into a good car show of it's own. They were excited that it was so busy. Cool. You guys go eat and I'll do a lap and see if you're ready to ride. Well, I did a lap and they were still just chillin' there so I packed up and left. I got there and unloaded before 4PM Saturday. I took both scoots, but only rode T2. Figured it's kinda nice to have a backup though, just in case. I've parked on the same street in about the same spot every time for car shows and bike week for 5 years or so now and there's hardly anyone around. This time there was something going on at the park nearby. Since I have to leave the tailgate down with a scoot in the back, I parked in the parking lot beside the street Friday. This time I couldn't get a spot so I parked on the street. I came back to the truck after lap 2 and the tailgate was damaged. Luckily the person left a note and a guy walking his dog came over and said a guy knocked on his door trying to see if it was his truck because they just backed into it. So it sounds like the person did what they could. I called the police anyway to get a report basically to cover myself a little more just in case. The cop called the guy and gave him my name and number and said if he doesn't cooperate we can escalate, but the guy texted me his insurance info that night. The guy walking his dog even posted on a Cruisin' group about seeing the truck hit and then found my site email and told me if I need a witness or anything to let him know. Who knows how it goes with the actual claim, but as far as how everyone handled it; I was pleasantly surprised. The OCPD officer was also very friendly. His F-150's battery died when he was gonna fire it back up and I offered him my jump box or a jump start with cables but he had his own jump box and cranked it right up. I called out a guy I met at a bike week group ride to come out with his "OC's fastest Ruckus" but he said his tag fell off the night before so he couldn't come out. I'll keep trying. I have to know how fast it is. LOL A couple of scoot guys were around... but in their cars and sitting at Wawa again. I think one guy came out on his scoot, but not till way late when I was already gone so I was on my own the whole time. No worries. I enjoy riding alone too. It's actually nice to do a bit for me because I can do what I want and don't have anyone else wanting to stop or to worry about when I'm doing something dumb on the scoot. T2 changes from day to night at the beach. I think it's part werewolf. In the afternoon, it was a bit sluggish. Don't get that twisted, it power wheelies and goes but you can feel and hear a difference in the throttle. At night, it runs hard. I swear it runs it's hardest at the beach at night. I'm sure it's all air related, but it's fun. Left a light and eased into the throttle which got the wheel up a little only to look over at the OCPD beside me. LOL He didn't do anything. The day before I got into it and the rest of the group said a cop was behind me in another lane and moved over when I did that, but luckily again left me alone. They're literally everywhere. Came up to one light that just turned green, got in it from 25 or so and carried the wheel across the intersection and beyond. Good thing I lowered it to calm it down a little. Later I left a light with some cars and eased into it, carrying the wheel low a short distance while pulling away from traffic and at the next light a guy told me "that thing is fast" and wanted to know what's done to it. I had little luck getting anyone on 4 wheels to run me. An F-150 was asking for it at a light. Jumped it a little and lunged forward and so on. He got into it but I put at least a car length between us right off the line and he gave up when he realized he wasn't gaining on me. I had an old Bel Air gasser get into it a little. Did a U-Turn with a Civic and he took off from a roll. He pulled away some, but not awful. The civic was right hand drive with a license plate reading "WONG SY". I don't think MD MVA pays much attention when you put these requests in. LOL Probably the most amusing thing I saw all weekend was a little truck... not the Honda Acty. I saw one of those, but this was even smaller. It was in front of me for a bit on a street with stop and go traffic. I was popping the front up and he started taking off after stops and just barely chirping the tire. It made me giggle at least. I think I may have more HP in T2, but it was fun to watch. Overall I enjoyed it. Could do without now needing to deal with the tailgate, but mostly good. Oh, I did get the kickstart stuck on T2 on the first start attempt Friday. It kicked back and hard jammed the lever. Took the cover off and the pinion gear was up too far and the locator on it was out of place. The kick gear is damaged on the last couple of teeth and it got stuck there. I used a pry bar and popped the pinion out and back in. Worked fine the rest of the weekend. Sadly, the kick stuff was replaced not long ago. EDIT : I just saw on facebook where the witness posted looking for me about the truck hit, that someone identified me as "the guy with the loud scooter". "The guy with the fast scooter" would have been better, but at least if my ears have to ring for days after riding it pays off. LOL

Malossi notified the seller that the rear fixed half is unavailable right as I tried to cancel my order anyway after more than 10 days of nothing happening. The only operational issue with the one that I cut to sit deeper is the bearing being tight and I don't think that is making it eat belts even faster than the modified pulley because it does spin pretty well. It was going to cost $215 for that anyway and at this point I don't want to put a bunch of money into this setup.
What I'm thinking about is building a 2nd RC-One that's a 100cc. It would have to happen slowly over time, piece by piece, for financial reasons so it's not something that you'll see anytime soon. I've wanted to either build another or at least put a 100cc kit in T2 for a long time. That was a lot of my motivation to test the 34mm PWK. Sadly, if I hadn't screwed around with the PWK and ate parts for a year I would have been able to put a 100cc on the RC-One I have already. The PWK may have done the same on it, since most of the 100s recommend 34mm carbs. Malossi is supposed to be releasing a carb kit for their new 100, so I may look into how expensive that is when the time comes since the 28mm setup for the 94cc works well out of the box.
Aside from a belt every 150 miles to be safe, which is not just too much money but also annoying to always have to think about belt mileage before a ride, there will be other maintenance required. Since I want to go 100 anyway, I'd rather end up with 2 very strong engines on a good platform than do the 100 and put money into maintaining the TPR. I've already done the liquid cooled conversion so the rear disc is the main thing I'd need to change for an RC-One. That's a good change anyway, because after getting used to the rear disc I'm not a huge fan of the drum.
One thing I'd like to change is the rear wheel. I'd prefer to keep T1 lower and lighter, so it would be nice to have a 12" wheel for the disc brake setup. I'll have to do some research there for what Minarelli has 12" wheels with rear disc that can fit this. The wheels may wind up mismatched front and rear because I may just keep what I have on the front. Depends what I can find. If anyone knows some scoots with wheels that would fit, please share.

It probably makes more sense in some ways purely for riding. I'm not big on the idea of having to import things and get help getting things to me if I need any sort of spare stock stuff. I appreciate click and send when I want stuff. I don't even like having to source wheels because I have to ask for help. I don't mind working on custom stuff and spending weeks trying to build some stupid idea that I had, but I don't want parts acquisition to be a hassle. Then, they stop at sport level. I know they can be fast, but it looks like many are in the 20-30HP range tuned and they don't scream like the smaller racing stuff. Sensible, but not as fun. I know Shiny Red Tuning had a VERY fast one long ago, but then I know people with very fast standard and FL 100s and I ain't that guy paying pro porters and pushing the edge of everything. Out of the box, it looks like you basically wind up with what I'm accustomed to from a sport 70... but huge displacement so it does make power. By the time I get a whole engine imported, whatever parts I need related to it, all of the tuning bits... I might as well build a 100cc with 5 more HP than it has with the goodies on it plus that racing CVT and ignition (can't find those for the 180 in quick looks at the places I'm used to) to make it ridiculously responsive. All of the things that make racing stuff a terrible idea for street use are pretty much why racing stuff makes me grin when I ride it. TBH if I wanted to be sensible and make reliable HP, I'd probably try to find an XMAX 300 to do a swap. Four-stroke... but 27HP that prob goes 50,000+ miles with nothing but routine maintenance. Maybe I'll put one of those in the TaoTao one day. Nothing like a 10" front wheel with a Chinese stock disc at 90MPH. LOL A riding buddy is looking at a crashed XMAX right now to possibly swap it into his GY6 scoot, so that should be interesting.

I got a couple of parts from ScooterTuning.Ca. I've tried to be cheap on this reiteration of T1, but I spent a good bit of time looking at Chinese gauges and none of them made me happy. It's hard to find reasonably sized gauges that will go to 14,000RPM and beyond. When I did, they aren't that well reviewed and it's not clear how you would get temperature input on the ones that did seem to have the option. Many mentioned not being that bright and I do like to film and see my gauges for RPM or other data so that's a problem. I could use the Koso tach, but I'd prefer to have one instrument cover more functions. I've used Trail Tech Vapors on 4 of my scoots now. They're really good gauges so I haven't strayed, but I just wanted to try something different if I was going to spend the money to have a quality multi-gauge unit, so I went with Stage6. It appears that it does fuel level and volts as well as speed, RPM and temp. I believe it has 2 temp inputs. Not sure yet if one can be an EGT or if it's limited in range for coolant and CHT. I at least want to have coolant temp, especially since I've never had radiators behind stuff before. I made up a bracket for the expansion tank. 99% of the time, the tank is useless for me. I like having one though because if I see coolant pushing into the tank and/or it's pressurized, then I know that I've got sealing troubles. I have been meening to ask you how you like the stage 6 gague cluster? I have been wanting to upgrade the bars and gague setup on my build for a while and have looked at the stage 6 before as an option. Have found your builds and videos to be super instructive and helpfull on my journy learning the art of these little 2 stroke scooters.

I have been meening to ask you how you like the stage 6 gague cluster? I have been wanting to upgrade the bars and gague setup on my build for a while and have looked at the stage 6 before as an option. I mostly like it. -It has a nice range of readings. I really like that you can do fuel level and voltage that the Trail Tech Vapors can't. -It has it's own performance measurement, but I haven't tried that because the dragy is excellent for testing. -The backlight is nice and adjustable brightness in settings. -Seems to be pretty accurate if you set it up right. -It's got a bunch of warning light options and it also switches to fuel level reading automatically when you get below a certain percent full. What I don't like... -You can't see speed and detailed RPM at the same time. When you set it to speed, all you get is the bar display up top. If you set it to RPM, it doesn't show speed at all. -To switch between speed and RPM you have to be on the main screen and you have to hit 2 buttons simultaneously, which is tough if using their mount that flexes a lot so I wind up pulling over. -It seems harder to find accessories like extension cables and different temp sensors than with a Trail Tech.

I took the scoot to Camden, DE Sunday for a 50-something mile ride on some curvy back roads with 6 other scoots. I’m always early so pics below are from a guy with an S1000RR that stopped to chat while he took a break for a few minutes as I was waiting for the other scoots to arrive. It’s interesting to me that the bike culture seems different around the Camden/Dover area than what I’m used to. People seem more interested and a bit more inclusive of whatever you’re riding. The group of scoots only hung around for maybe 5-10 minutes before riding and in that time a guy that was airing up his tires asked if we were a club or something and said he has a Buddy 50. Apparently this happens enough that they just got a QR code for people to scan when they ask. The ride went well. Mostly cruising 35-40MPH because the majority were on 50s. I felt really fast for a change when i opened it up to 70 or a little less and passed the group plus some small dirt bikes and mini bikes that saw us at a gas station. Zoomed by the 150 in the group in a spot where the others said the turns were fun so pass and enjoy. 😁 My headlight did totally go out. The clear dome on the projector LED had already fallen off and was rattling around in the housing for weeks, but it was working till then. I liked the yellow low beam and white high beam, but I’m not going back to them from AliExpress. Ordered a white LED BA20D from Amazon. Hoping the thousands of good reviews mean it’ll last longer… but I’d bet most aren’t subjecting them to 10-12kRPM just to cruise slow.
