Sweet, so I can pretty safely assume that parts for minarelli's should fit mine? Once it gets fixed it's not staying stock for long

you have to watch your trans parts
becuase it has an odd trans you have a short case gear set up yet the actaul case is a long case so you need a realy long belt
you also will not be able to find an over range that will work with that set up becuase no one makes a proper belt
but the bores are the same and it runs the small shaft varatior and small taper fly wheel

What makes you say it has short case gears?

Started cleaning the case up a bit today so I can get a good look at things. There was really a lot of grime on this thing. Took the exhaust off to see this. Nice. Where else should I be looking for big carbon build up? and matching exhaust port My lovely little mess

That's a lot of build up. Seeing that much, I'd take the head off too and see how it looks in there. Blow through the exhaust and see if air comes out so you know if it's clogged inside anywhere too.

Or just running really lean on oil in general. What's the best way to knock the carbon free? I've not worked on 2 strokes or small displacement motors before, but should I have gaskets waiting before I put the motor back together? Idk if head gaskets are much of an issue on a 50cc 2 stroke. On a side note, on first glance, I did not see an oil drain plug or oil reservoir or anything. Where should I be looking to drain any oil in there out?

Hi The oil reservoir on a 2t should be under the seat of the scoot, from there its auto mixed in with the fuel and burned during combustion. Take care and ride safely Yours Hank
