Check for vacuum leaks. Try adjusting the carburetor's mixture setting to see if anything improves. Look for anything awry in the CVT.

I finally got over being sick, after and entire week. So I spent my day outside messing with things until I finally got it running again! I'm running a 70 jet, and it seems to be enough, maybe even too much.
Storytime: After my inital test run after it was somewhat dialed in, I came home and parked it. Looked down to see a giant puddle of blue oil, and it was growing! The oil line from the tank to the pump came disconnected from the tank just before I turned into my driveway (I could see the trail of oil) The little clip is gone, but I threw on a nice clamp so it should never happen again. But I'm lucky it didnt fall off further away from home. And to make matters worse, when I was hurrying to reconnect the hose, I burned myself on the exhaust!
So then I took a ride to Oreilly to grab a new spark plug so I could do some plug reads with my tune. Both of the employees came out and were checking out my scooter. The one guy was from Puerto Rico, and he said he used to build scooters down there with turbos and NOS :riding: He said he had a Triton GT5 a year ago, that he imported alot of parts from PR for. Maybe I should go back and get his number ;D

Not sure why you need to import parts from PR for a minarelli, but yeah they have lots of fast scoots there.

Oh by the way, for any of you that may be wondering how I got it running again. All I changed was the reeds, back to stock. As soon as I changed them, it started right up. I guess it doesn't like those carbon fiber reeds. After I took them out, I pulled them open with my fingernail, and I noticed that they had a bubble-like film on them as I pulled them open, which "popped" after a certain distance. I know for a face that my stock reeds don't do that. Could that be what was causing all this headache?

Hm. I wouldn't have thought to change out a set of CF reeds to stock to fix that problem. Good job on the fix.
Maybe those reeds are just defective?

Went out for a nice ride this evening after it got dark and cooled down. It's the perfect temp out right now. Let me just say this. Seeing I'm not running in tune, I can't hit full speed, and It bogs after it warms up, but when I first started it up and took off... It reminded me of all those Polini Evo kits I've seen on youtube I was literally from 0 to 40 in about 3 seconds MAX. Can't wait to get this thing in tune fully Oh, and I had the neons on as I drove by the local fireworks as everyone looked away from the fireworks and stared at my scooter as I drove by

Envious, man. I wanna see some take off/wheelie/riding vid when you get it all straightened out tuning wise.

I'm looking to blow some cash ;D Can anybody suggest a good carb? I'm thinking of going with about a 21mm. Racing style with quick-change jets would be a plus. I know I'm going to lose oil-injection, but if it means more performance, I don't care

I am a big fan of DellOrto carburetors. I've got 2 and I'd like to have more. They make them in 21mm. I suggest a manual choke. If you wanna be cheap, you can leave teh access panel in front of the seat off and reach in to use the standard lever choke pretty easily (that's what I do with T1 & T2). You can also get kits to have a remote operated choke.

I was leaning towards a dellorto. Seems like everyone who's used them has nothing but good things to say about them. I can get one from Jeremy for $165 according to his site. If anybody can find a better deal than that, I'm gonna hold off on ordering it for now.
