If they won't hold, you could see if the next size up either sae or metric could be used and the block tapped accordingly. Not sure if there's really enough room though if the intake/reed bolt holes needed to be enlarged.

Honestly, at this point, I just want to get it running it's best, and get rid of the thing ASAP. If something happens to it after that, oh well. I'll be in Florida and the next guy can deal with it

106 main jet (maybe 108, can't remember) and a 32.5 idle jet = front wheel came off the ground when pulling out of my driveway earlier!

Uh oh Brent. I think you just provoked a new scooter for next years TnG. We're gonna see Robert there with a backwards scooter doing wheelies with his arms behind his back.

I do believe this thing is trying to drive me insane. I threw on my "paper" filter, thinking it might tell me if I'm lean or rich. Found out I'm lean with the foam filter. I tune it a bit with the paper filter (which is at least TWICE as loud as the foam filter) and it's running B+ in the higher RPM's. Off the line, it's a slug. So I get home and throw a bigger idle jet in it, seeing I was already at the lowest I have, I figure it must be lean. I go to throw the carb bowl back on after the jet swap, and one of the screws stripped the threads on the carb body! I'm tempted to take the carb off, and re-thread the thing with american threads, just so I can actually get screws from the hardware store. Freaking Chinese threads that are such a fine metric size that they strip that easily, and are impossible to find even in metric countries! What do you guys think I should do?

Does it have space to drill it out and put a nut on the other side; like a through bolt?
If not; tap it up a size. Easy. Just sucks that you gotta have that one special screw different from the rest - unless you tap all four.

Just sucks that you gotta have that one special screw different from the rest - unless you tap all four. Nah, it's the place where the last dude put a wood screw in it And directly above it is the oil injection port, so there's no way to put a nut there. Maybe I'll just throw the wood screw back in there temporarily, until I feel like taking it off to retap it. I already am running with 1 screw different than the others. I ended up using one of the carb screws from RD in the other side. The only one that fit was the reeeeeally long one, so it takes forever to screw it all the way in after a jet swap

Aw man I hate those looong carb screws. Makes jetting such a PIA. I have been using the stock phillips and a power drill to do my jetting sessions.
All this trouble, man - seems like a brand new carb would be worth it by now. Everything else on that bike is pretty much flawless, right?

Yea, I was hitting low 50's with the stock carb and an upjet. Now I'm lucky to hit 45. Though that other filter I threw on yesterday made a big difference. I think I may actually be able to get it tuned now that I fit that on. Another question. I've got a leakdown tester I made last year. My question is, can I plug the exhaust up at the end, instead of removing it and plugging the port? I don't have anymore exhaust gaskets, and I'd hate to break that perfect seal I have.
