The 5 degree reed spacer is there to mount the reeds more towards the transfer tunnels, but I've seen those kiesler intake (with piaggio style reed valves, mounted ''vertically'') I don't know if they are better this way. Here the carb. is facing the rear wheel. It's written that when the reeds are mounted this way, they open at the same time (when Mina reeds don't?) and thus gives better performance.

I think the Piggy cases flow more toward the transfer tunnels than the Mina cases.Ive built a reed system for the mina with a vertical setup because thats the only way it'd fit.It runs well that way,but I feel a Mina case is hindered from full performance because of the downward angle of the reed cage more than any other reed related factor..

So it's solved I'll keep the reeds horizontal. Thank you!

I'm assembling the MVT case right now, only problem a seal is broken... And I can't take out the seal clip (variator side) because a *** guy broke my 50$ special clip tool. I tried to install it from the bearing side. (yeah I know it was not a good idea) I didn't painted the case as supposed because the paint I needed was B-O and I don't want to spend 30 bucks for a custom color rattlecan. Also the exhaust doesn't fit perfectly. I'll post pics later !

Heck!Grind down the tips of an old set of needle nose pliers,or use a scribe to catch one side of the clip and "walk" it out with a twisting motion..Dont let a silly tool stop an important build!!!

I broke the seal installing it the "wrong way" and I have no good seal left anyway I hope someone will have one at the ScootFest tomorrow so I can at least start it on the Zuma frame. Well, maybe not because I have a rear-facing intake and no brackets to mount the engine... I didn't received my clutch yet and I only have OEM 2 pads ones left, which will break at first start if I take in account that it's more powerful than the 103, which broke a OEM one after 10-15 miles. The bad thing here is that I'm always waiting for parts, and I have no time to go to the machine shop to get the brackets and fork mount ( for Jog frame) fabed.

So far : No pic with exhaust, bracket just doesn't fit the zuma case Machine shop work: -Make front forks fit the Jog -Make mounts for radiator -Make mounts for engine -change all gearbox bearings -make the pipe fit. I'm thinking about getting a Torsen.

You could bolt the bracket to the case and see where the mounting hole lines up with the mounting hole on the bracket. If it's in a reasonable spot, not right on the edge or something, then mark it and drill a new hole for the pipe to bracket mount. Kinda looks like it would be on the edge or past it to me, but I'd try that first. Would prob be the easiest way to deal with it if it works out.

The bracket "might" be bent into a Z shape,,other than that it'll likely need to be cut and rewelded or a whole new bracket fabed.Check that the tire clears the pipe also..

I have the same problem with a MHR Replica exhaust, for Aerox... I thought those Aerox pipe were bolt-on on Zuma cases. Seems it's not true !

So, frame is at machine shop for some mods. I also gave him the engine, exhaust for a bracket, zuma wheels, forks, bearings etc. All in the jetta's trunk lol. I didn't had a scale, but the Jog parts are SO much lighter than Zuma parts! Frame was easy to lift with one hand.
The guy who works on it is a 2 stroke fan, building drag racing sled, custom frame and engines, also Banshee frame and engines. I was surprised to not get a machinist who make a ''boring'' face because it's a scooter.
It will be ready during the next week, but I will not be able to participate to Scooter Week-End because I don't have a water pump, only a 24mm carb when I am supposed to run it on a 30mm and no good clutch. I hope to be able to drive it at other events, fairings or not !

It's a pain waiting for parts, but will be worth it in the end Is that the water cooled Zuma the Aerox exhaust wont fit. I am quite surprised because my PM 360 pipe went on a Yamaha Neos air cooled no problem. The Zuma might be the same engine as we get here on the Yamaha jog, The water cooled version. The must be something different about it as the Jog RR I had, has a radiator a third the size of the Aerox one.

Zuma exhaust bracket is sightly different. Seems ''thicker'' than the aerox ones, like if the bracket face more towards the right when you look from the rear of the scooter.

Waiting for the frame and stuff. I will not be able to race this weekend because I don't have any water pump and I need some other small parts. I have no news of the machine shop, I'll try to have some tomorrow. At least, I will try to give a first start to the engine at the dragstrip. I'm sad because all the time I was working on it, it was mainly to go to the scooter week-end... it was supposed to be finished some weeks ago, but I waited so long to get some important parts like the exhaust and machine shop work that it was just impossible to be on time.
I registered the zuma today (for no reason apparently, because it looks like a frame with some plastics at the moment.) But main reason is because I got a strange insurance fine for not registering it and it was 2 to 3 times the price of registering the scooter ($289 for register). Also to be able to register it next year. Out there, when a scooter is not registered for a year, it must pass a BVA, or mechanical inspection, where everything needs to be Yamaha without aftermarket parts at all, no missing screw, oem lights and else which is FAR from being my zuma.
