i took the scoot out for its first ride today......it runs good on the low and top end....mid range not so good...trying to cruse at 35mph and it stutters a good bit.....if i give it more gas it runs fine.....what adjustments should i make to get it to run smoother....thanks

I'd try adjusting the needle. Drop the clip one notch to richen it to see if it helps if it gets worse go the other way

What needle number do you have ? Look for the chart and find the part of your throttle which cause problems. They came with various different needles. W5 needles are best for the racing-oriented, higher-revving applications, but W7 are better for less tuned/lower revving scooters.

thanks everyone for the great info.....at the moment the scooter is covered up in the garage and will be there for a little while.....i decided to wait on tuning till i get the right parts to match the 103 motor.....and its now snowing here so all the bikes are tucked in for the winter.....i will be ordering the rest of the parts little by little over the next few months.....when the weather brakes i will have her back out and get her all tuned up....im sure i will have more questions when that time comes......

I agree with Kevin. I always end up with a W6,or 7 when tuning street scoots. I believe once you get up into the higher numbers, say W16,17 the taper is about the same as the 6,or 7 but the overall length of the needle is shorter.?

Something like 1mm or just under is good, but if compression is high that way it can go wider. Ideally you'd run the tighter squish and modify the combustion chamber volume to get compression where you want it.
