I looked around online and it looks like nobody local sells the cable I need in 10ft. Everyone stops at 6ft. I need a cable stretcher. ;D

Thanks. It's a Pioneer 50 something inch. Used to be in the house, way too nice to get rid of. I work on scoots and watch racing while I do it! ;D Life doesn't get too much better.
I tied the GoPro to my jacket's zipper to try and put the cam about where I am without hearing the wind rush around the helmet. It makes wind sound way louder than it really is that way. You kinda have to ignore the quality of the audio, but just notice the volume difference in engine, wind, and stereo. Lots of folks have asked on lots of motorcycle forums about riding with it, so I made the vid at a couple different volume levels and different speeds. You can also see the issues. It randomly changes mode from FM to MP3 (Aux) at times and once the power even shut off. I'm gonna try unplugging the remote to see if that changes anything at some point. All in all, I like it... but it would be way nicer if it weren't cutting out or switching modes.
With a full face helmet, I can hear it OK on 20 of 30 at 50MPH. With the visor open, of course it's even better. At low speeds it's definitely plenty loud (everyone stares at you on VU 20).

Almost forgot... I checked voltages too. Before the ride, my battery was at 13.10V. 30 minutes of riding and listening later, the battery was at 13.22V. That's very good news. ;D

Seems like it works well, wonder if its a vibration issue causing the on-off stuff?Glad to see the system is charging, must not be pulling too much juice.. :thumb:

Great minds think alike. I beat on the scooter and jiggled wires and picked it up and dropped it and all sorts of fun stuff and couldn't make it switch. I made sure nothing could contact a button with force on the seat etc.... Tried messing with the remote too. Then I figured it must come down to a vibration issue. I re-mounted the amp with grommets and washers to damp the vibrations a little hopefully. I caused myself a lot of unnecessary trouble with that 10ft mono cable. Turns out a 6ft woulda worked. Since it's all apart and supposed to be cold or rainy for a bit, I might go ahead and get a 6ft cable with 90 degree ends to give everything a bit more clearance. Something good might as well come from this extra work. lol

I saw that as well. I've had good luck with PayPal/eBay resolving issues that other sellers wouldn't resolve. That's the same seller as the site I listed and eBay. After reading reviews about busted speakers, I thought it may be safer to deal with eBay where I had more options than just dealing with the seller. I've never dealt with Amazon over an issue like that, so they may be very helpful as well? I never had any trouble anyway, but after reading quite a few people receiving busted parts I definitely think the possibility should be considered.

I never had to resolve anything through amazon before but you bring up a valid point. Can you post some close ups of and how you made the mounting brackets?

Awesome! Looks like the stock brackets will work with my stock mirrors. Cant get it right now though, after letting mine sit for a few days I cranked it up and heard that same scrape-scrape-scrape noise . Went for an 18 mile ride and dumped the gear lube, full of glitter again . I hope its just a bearing. Awesome job on the stereo!
