I was thinking even with the 70cc kit that I wish it's previous owner could ride it. He moved away though. He thought it was pretty good stock. lol Talking to a friend last night, I said I bet I never find another scooter to race now that I've got this thing haulin' pretty well. That's how it works for me. I always find someone to play iwth when I'm on a slow scoot or soemthings not right.

That video is SICK!!!
Makes me smile that you got that little guy going faster than my Kymco. We bow to the master at work...or play...or what ever...

Dad hasn't rode it yet. I wanna get a good test ride in with him at home so I have soemone to call to pick me up just incase. lol Before that I wanted to get the manual choke on and check the tune too. It's been 90+ here today and I think it will be for the next 2 or 3 days. Kinda don't wanna tune in 90 degree weather when normally it's 70's this time of year and 50's at night, and that will be dropping soon.

If you leave the stock gears in there instead of swapping to the deeper gears that come in the Venus' engine, I bet it would still accel pretty well and be capable of some pretty crazy speeds for a little scoot. Then again, the whole reason I never wanted to do that is that it's just not stable enough and doesn't have the braking power to support 60MPH+ safely. When I am going 55+ it feels a little shady in general to be honest lol. It's fun, but I think your Dragon or even the old Triton is way better for what you wanna do.

I think it wold be fun to make a hot drag bike out of it but i hate to build something that would sit most of the time.

I went out and swapped the slider weights back to where they were when I ws getting better speeds with the ZX pipe. I swapped to 1000RPM clutch springs from stock too. I should follow my own advice. With it approaching 90 and humid here today it acts totally different than when it was in the 70s and mild humidity. It's so sluggish now and the throttle is so "squishy" and unresponsive that it just pissed me off and I came back inside. It would still do wheelies and got to 54MPH, but it really struggled for speed above 45MPH. I shoulda known something was wrong when it started on the 1st kick. lol I'm guessing it's probably too rich even in the cooler weather, or it should run a little better than this on the hot days, but no sense in messing with anything till the temps go back to normal.

I just read back over that last post. If the 70cc acted like this did today, other than poor tuning bogs and what not, I woulda been thrilled. lol It's amazing how fast you get used to some things.

I got the manual choke in and installed for the Arreche carb. It started up, but seemed really rich even with the choke off. After multiple inspections and cable adjustments, same thing. There was still a noticeable difference with the choke on and off, so I figured I'd try to adjust for the added fuel. Ended up with a smaller pilot jet, different mixture settings, and a smaller main jet. It was kinda right, but still soggy feeling on the throttle. It's been raining so I haven't got to tune it yet or ride till tonight. I had to take something to the post office so I wanted to ride the Venus. I couldn't start it with the choke on or off and ended up having to use some propane sprayed into the airbox to get it to fire since I had no starting fluid/carb cleaner handy and I was too lazy to pull the airbox off and choke it with my hand. Now it feels like a different tune altogether and the weather is pretty similar. It's really unresponsive other than high revs and even then it won't rev as much. I think I'm done with this Arreche. I've had it on multiople setups and it has never made me happy. There's always some sort of problem with it. Now it won't start with auto or manual enrichers and the tune is always changing on me somehow. Lots of times I've tried to use it, I just can't get it quite right. I can make it work pretty well, but it seems to always be a little off somewhere. I just don't have these troubles with my Dellortos or even stock carbs. I looked around for info about the choke and it seems that some people love it and some people have issues like me. I think it should have a needle just like the auto enricher, instead they made it with just the barrel and no needle.
Anyone know if 21mm Dellortos need an aftermarket cable on the minarelli scoots? I don't really wanna spend the money, but I don't really want a tempermental scooter either. If I'm gonna spend money, I'm not going with a small stock carb for a 96cc. If anyone sees a great deal on a 21mm PHBG, lemme know please. The lowest price I'm seeing ATM is $100 from SIP.

I saw the Mikuni like John has for $70 I think it was. I remember John said the stock cable was too short, the needle it comes with was too lean, the airbox had to be modded to work with it, and he was just generally unhappy with it for a bit. I'd pay the $30 extra for a black PHBG at that rate. It also looks like the Mikuni is taller from John's pic in his Mikuni problems thread, and I don't know how well that would work in this scoot.

The TM22 is working great now,but it was a heck of a lot of work getting it there, the Dellorto is a better choice all around!
