Yes I am buying it as soon as I get my fine paid off. I'm at about 650 getting paid this weekend will put me at about 800-900 or more. Need about 1100. Once I'm done with that, it's all scooter money .

Air scoop mod finished. Sorry for the crappy pics, it's raining here. So that was my first experience with bondo. It wasn't perfect, because I didn't get the glaze. Didn't think I needed it. Now I know what it's like without it. Will be getting it for future bondo projects. Here is a pic of how I attached it. Screwed from the inside. The screw where a little long, so I had to shave them down with the dremel and bondo over them. This is my next bondo project. Getting rid of these holes. Also plan on doing the ones on the sides too. Then it's time to paint. Thinking I might change up the color scheme of the scoot... Dunno what colors yet. PS: The screws that fit the fan cover are #6-32. Picked up a pack of 8 with nuts for about a buck at Lowes. Thanks for giving me the inspiration and guidance in the tech section, Brent.

Hey, I'm glad to inspire such good work. Gonna have to start calling this thing the YaMighty soon with all these recent mods. ;D Sorry, it's corny.

Looks great man! You did a very good job! Your scooter has turned out to be a very sharp ride drawkward! Thanks man! Wish it rode like skeedr though... Oh and this still looks WAY too stock for me. I want to make this thing look insane. Got big plans for 'er. Update: Jetted at 115 right now Think it still might be lean. Don't have much time, gotta go to work in a few. Going to see how it does on the open road.

115? WTF, you running a filter? Hope you dont have a air leak ? Sounds like allot-a-fuel man Watch how "unstock" you make it look...Draws unwanted attention to, if ya know what i mean

I was thinking the same thing, a whole lot of fuel.
Maybe I went to far? I don't know man. I'm having trouble tuning it. I mean it feels the same from 105-115. I'm not really going all that fast either. Pulling like 25 up hills, cruising maybe 40.
Another thing - They are jetted stock 82.5. I ported the intake - if that matters. I plugged off the oil intake hose, to the best of my abilities. Pretty sure it's nice and snug, I'll do the spray around the cylinder test tomorrow. I actually hope there IS a leak, so I can finally get this thing into tune. It's also backfiring when I let off the gas and cruise down, then hit the gas again. Not everytime, but sometimes. I thought tuning was just supposed to be this hard. But I can't seem to get it right. I mean, shouldn't I feel a big difference when jetting from 105 to 115?? Caraaazy man.

Yes, i would think so. If i tried that drastic of a change mine would stumble out and want to die as soon as i nailed the throttle. It IS possible to ride everyday with your main way to rich though. A friend has a 04 Super9 that he jetted way to rich by accident..Still runs good but lost a ton of power up on the topend. Your running a UNI right? Try your stock airbox with the snorkle out. Should take around an 80-85 main? Just a thought, sometime mine ran better with the stock box, and was easier to tune.

I agree about the stock box. There's a pretty well known range there that works for most folks. I know I like to say you need to find the right jet for your setup and no one can tell you which it will be for sure, but in this case you may be best to try the stock airbox and a known range of jetting. I know this is still a pretty big range, but 70-90 is the range of jetting that almost everyone will find themselves within. I'm not sure where to tell you for sure within there. The cylinder itself and variations in carbs from one scoot to another will throw it off some. My 70cc Triton ran for thousands of miles with the stock jet and ran rich with an MRP kit and the stock airbox. I put a Polini Sport on for a customer and it wanted a 90 with the snorkel removed from the airbox. I'd say slap the airbox on and start with an 80. Snorkel or no snorkel that should get you in the ballpark. Take a quick ride and try to do a plug chop from WOT (I know it doesn't work great with CVTs, but if you brake quickly the engine will die out pretty fast). If it looks lean try an 85. If it looks too rich try the 75. If it looks right or a little rich you could just leave it.
I might have to start a thread later so we can have a database of jetting used with stock carbs.

Nice database! Still don't have a chance to do anything to the scoot. Had about an hour to relax before jobs today, used it to take a nap. Maybe tomorrow, if I have a chance, I'll spray around everything and find out WHERE, not if, I have a leak. I think I do. Getting weird idling going on. My idle screw does just about nothing as well. I also noticed earlier on that I might have a leak when I spotted this. Thought it just might be some gas spilled on the top of the case that leaked down to the cylinder. I'm now looking at it differently. Check out this picture. See that above the cylinder, at the base? That was taken last week after I had a seize going full throttle. Looks like a leak to me. This will be my first place to check. Will the primitive spray leak test work with WD-40? Where can I get that spray on copper gasket at? I don't think Autozone has it... They have only RTV silicone based form-a-gaskets. That won't work, not even the orange "copper-based" one is rated for gasoline use. I guess I could just put it on for now and order some spray on copper gasket for next week if I have to. I don't have the oil tank in my way anymore, so getting the cylinder off is cake now. Also, on a side note. My engine is getting lower and lower. What's up with that? Everytime I gas the scooter I get this huge slam when I take off. Are my bushings wearing out or something? The frame like sits on the engine now. I'm kinda lost on how to fix it. Just seems like a bushing, but I don't know why it would start to fail like that. What I'm trying to say is that the space between the springs and the frame is growing. It used to be that the springs were ON the frame at rest, now it's like 2 or 3 inches... The frame of the scooter is actually resting on the engine when at rest.

Never tried WD40 for that. I got my copper spray at AutoZone. If they do the displays the same, you'll have a rack of RTV stuff and then on the bottom is a shelf where cans of stuff are put. That's where it is at my local AZ. It does sound like the bushings may be in rough shape or something. Pull the motor mount off if you have to and inspect it. You don't want anything like that breaking. When I snapped a motor mount on T2 it sent me into the oncoming lane of traffic (no one was coming). Not cool. Worth spending what time you can to inspect everything.

maybe your... block pins? (not sure what to call them) are rounded out? Theres a pin in each side that holds the torsion bar in place. and they're in the shape of a square so they cant twist. if they're rounded off, they can twist, and cause issues like you're decribing. It might also just be the torsion bar itself. I have torsion bars in the garage, and I'm pretty sure I have a few block pins too. im 99% sure it would fix your issue.

Worth spending what time you can to inspect everything.I do remember seeing some cans of spray down there. Didn't see any spray gasket. I'll check again on the way home from work tomorrow. And geeze, way to scare the shit out of me! I'm going to be checking those mounts before I do any leak testing now! Just can't seem to fathom why they would "round out" or whatever. The only thing I can think of is that everything got REALLY REALLY hot when I was doing that long ride to work training before. You know, when my variator fan stripped and melted then snapped into 5 pieces? Maybe everything got hot all the way up to that point too. Seems very unlikely... I would expect the rubber to melt first. I also didn't think the CVT would melt, but it did. We'll find out. These Yamati's really aren't the best built machines. At least they are close enough to your Tritons that I can get parts off of Ben. Speaking of... maybe your... block pins? (not sure what to call them) are rounded out? I'll take a look and see what it is. I'll be ordering quite a bit of stuff from you soon, so I'll see if it can hold off until then. Glad to hear you got me covered, as always. You have seriously been a life saver so far! Saved my ass more time than I can count. You said you tossed the frames. I'm glad you kept the mounts! ;D I was really close to not even asking about the engine mounts, just throwing it off as a small issue. Glad I brought it up, seems pretty serious now.
