I couldn't wait, put it on this morning...realized I have the late shift today so got on it bright and early. The install went well and I switched from a #60 main jet to a#85. The stock main was starving the carb and it cut out on me so the 85 seems to do the trick. Man, it has all kinds of get up and go uphill and on flats. It does seem to need better take off...guess that's where the clutch spring comes in, hmm? Anyway, it is much quicker up to top end and seems to defy the wind and hills better so, I'm a happy guy!

Great! I'd try 2K clutch springs and maybe some lighter rollers when you can. The clutch springs usually help a good bit on the initial take off. The rollers keep the revs up so the pipe can work the rest of the time.

The pipe came with 4 blue and 2 red rollers with no clue as to weight...will try the 2k spring and reorder some 4.5 gr weights and a new belt. The belt may well be the original with over 10,000 miles on it, then we'll see. The revs are definitely increased...

Scootertronics might know the weights.

Only problem with that is my sliders were 40 bucks and I'm determined to use them and the ones sent w/ pipe are rollers. My cheapness gets in the way of effective tuning I guess. After looking closely at the rollers, the reds are thinner, ie: lighter than the blues. I will ask Mike about the weights though. Also, when I started her up today, the silencer nuts were backing off the studs as though they had never been tightened; put star washers on and will hope they stay put. Am anxious to get out for a good ride and see just how much I've gained in performance and difference in mpg.

If the star washers don't do the trick, blue threadlocker should do it or use 2 nuts to lock it in place if there's enough room on the studs.

Hey Brent, are you talking about the small clutch springs or the big clutch spring and will I get more top end with lighter roller weight via more rpm?

Clutch spring are the 3 small springs that hold the clutch shoes inward. The contra spring or torque spring is the large spring between the clutch and rear pulley.
your rollers may need to be lighter to keep RPM up to stay in the powerband. If you go too light the rollers won't be able to push belt all the way out to get the best gearing for higher speeds.

Went over to felliotts today and frank weighed the rollers...5.5 gr each. I'm going to try them out and if I like them will order sliders in that weight unless you guys advise differently...I'll order 2000rpm springs and a belt at the same time.

5.5 grams is heavy for a stocker with tall gears. With the pipe - it should be ok. I think it was 2strokd that told me once that the sliders weights will be different than the rollers. If you like 5.5 gram rollers, then you will like 6.5 gram sliders... Or is it the other way around?

I went from 4 gram rollers to 5 gram sliders and I wont go back after making the switch
