So about getting everything back to normal...
The RX8 is almost finished, so I decided it was time to update this thread as well.
Right now I've got a stock bottom end (no case/carter tuning) that I just bolted together with a fresh 47mm Autotech355@eBay kit. I got a great deal on this kit from Carlos (Autotech). I've been dealing with Carlos for a long time, and have purchased a quite a few times from him. I don't know if that influenced the deal (probably did) but I was able to cop this cylinder kit, upgraded to a 12mm pin, single ring, lightweight, "racing" piston - for exactly $96 shipped. I've used this cylinder with this piston in the past (in 2010 I bought this exact cylinder plus the single ring piston for over $150 - it pays to ask).
