I am the new proud owner of a completely trashed out 2004 CPI Popcorn. It was sold under the name Viaggio RX5, but is the same as the popcorn. I can't find any info on the Viaggio RX5, so I'm going ahead and calling it what I know it to be. My brother was the original owner, having this scooter shipped directly to him from China. I don't have any pictures of what it looked like new. Just search google for a CPI Popcorn. Plenty of pictures on there. My brother has had his share of accidents on this scooter, and I would be lying if I said I hadn't too. It's been beatin down in every way. Here are a list of problems it currently has. - Bent handlebars (Fixed) - Burnt out back light which was ghetto rigged with LED's (Fixed) - Burnt out headlight which was ghetto rigged with random bulb - Grips that were completely ripped apart - Broken handlebar cover - Broken rear panels - Missing battery - Missing mirrors - Completely unbalanced wheels (maybe bent) - Nearly bald tires - Seized and f*cked cylinder / piston (Rings are like molded into the piston) - Ran without oil - Spliced and respliced wires everywhere Now fixes for the immediate future - New rear plastics, paint all around - New grips- Bicycle Speedo- New headlight assembly- Removal of the oil injection system- Cheap 70cc BBK w/ single ring piston- Leo Vince ZX exhaust- Uni Filter- Custom Air Scoop - Custom Vented CVT Cover and Paint For the not so distant future... - Flush mount turn signals - TNT Downhill Bars and Adapter - Shock Riser - Custom CF Reeds - Custom Boost Bottle - Eventually a performance clutch and variator w/ kevlar belt So here's where I stand for now. Let the mods begin!

Looks an awful lot like 2strokd's Skeedr... after a beating. It definitely appears it's had a rough life, but sounds like it has a bright future. ;D

Hey, nice ride ;D! Its Skeedr,s cusin. Thats just like the CPI i got my motor from and some other stuff, off of good ole Shiftless. I think the Popcorn and Hussar are the same scoot, but the Popcorn has 12,s on it? Great ride tho, CPI is a bit better quality than allot of China/Taiwan scooters are outta the box. Kinda like the Vento,s are . Thats sweet ya got another scoot drawk . Now you can get your other at a happy sweet spot, then mod the heck outta the CPI . PM me if you need anything, maybe i can help?

It has exactly the same body style as Skeedr. I thought it was a Hussar, but the more I got into looking at them, the more they seemed just a little different. The Hussars seem to have the rear end of an Oliver, but the front of a Popcorn. This scooter is DEFINITELY way better quality then my Mati. I mean, the carb is a genuine Mikuni, not a knock off. The intake is a whole lot stiffer (stronger). Even the bolts are all stainless steel, compared to my bolts which are already starting to rust. It's got a throttle controlled oil pump, and even a fan comparable to the one I bought aftermarket for the Mati. It's really a shame that it had to come to this, but it's got a lot of potential. I'm really excited for it. My first real build. I get to choose every little detail on this scoot Reign says he has a few goodies for it, so I'm going to get what I can from him, then order the rest from partsforchinesescooters.com. The only thing I need to get it completely covered again are both rear panels, and the door. Everything else is scratched up, but its nothing I can't handle with some sandpaper, primer, and paint I would like to find out where I can get one of those tires like you have on your rear wheel, 2strokd! BTW - I don't have the money to get all it needs at once, so this is going to be a long term project. Looking at a few months down the road before it's close to being done!

Got the piston for the 70cc kit today. Single ring, 47mm/bore 12mm/pin. Got it all put together, and got the right jet in. Took it for a little ride. Man! This 70 is what I've been missing! Hill, no hill, wind, no wind. Doesn't matter. Pulls like no other scooter I've ever ridden. And that's with the stock air box and stock exhaust. Can't wait to feel it with the Leo. 5gram rollers, 85 main. Snorkle Removed. 15mm wide belt - that's had better days. Tops out at about 35, maybe more. But it get's there mighty fast. Spent the last 4 hours riding it like a dirtbike on the power lines, and pulling standing wheelies up and down the street (I know, "pics or it didn't happen". I was having too much fun to go grab the camera. Tomorrow I'll take a vid for ya - Keep in mind they weren't exactly power wheelies, but I can wheelie it now while standing on the passenger pegs!) BTW - I went to work and they sent me home cause I'm sick as a dog. I found the package on the door step when I got home, and had to set the scooter up - even though I feel like total shit Also, I never finished paint prepping. Got a little distracted today. Just popped the half sanded front back on so it didn't look so weird. PS: Would the belt labeled Item Number: 481at this link www.partsforchinesescooters.com/asp/gmi/?choice=showCategory&category=1000&classid=1000be the one for a long trans mina?

Yep, the 481 belt is the one for the 40QMB's. I'd honestly suggest that if you have an extra $10, you go with the kevlar from partsforscooters. I thought that mine was wearing down rather fast, but when I got my new kevlar the other day, it's actually the exact same dimensions. They hold up a TON better, especially after the 70cc conversion. I think they give more grip too.

Lookin' good. I like the white floorboard. If it's really a stunt scoot, you might as well loose the gauges and clean it up even more.

Thanks I like the gauges because it keeps the bar from looking so much like a Y. The Y shape just looks weird to me... Once I get the new bars and adapter I'll go ahead and remove them. It's a little on the incomplete side right now. Got a few things coming in the mail today (but i'll be at work ). Kevlar belt, completely new front incl. headlight assembly, LV ZX pipe, blue rear shock, kick start (so I don't have to borrow the Mati's), and a rear tire (mine is a little bald, which makes it too much fun in the grass). But for now I'm off to work

Man, that looks great! You just spraypainted the plastic? I've been thinking of trying to make my matte black plastic parts into gloss black.

Thanks guys I kinda went the euro tuning style route. Really like the white floor boards for some reason. I was thinking about welding a grab rail/ taillight saver, but my welder is only 70amp. It's no good for anything but exhaust pipes. Need to upgrade. I sprayed the plastic with Krylon Fusion White Gloss spray paint. Worked great. The pictures look OK but I mean there are sratches and what not that I just whited over that you can't see from afar. I don't mind. Looks a lot better than it did before... Did two coats. One to cover it, one to even it up here and there. Needs a clearcoat for protection. I mean after 24 hours or so it's a strong bonding paint, but you can scratch it if you try. I'm very impressed with the Fusion, compared to other's I've tried. I got the kevlar belt on, and the leo. I installed the Leo first, then went for a quick test ride. Whipped it on accident before I got out of the yard. That powerband is no joke. I was using 5 gram weights, with a 15mm wide belt, and getting up to 40mph - but really fast with no real dead spot. Then I put the kevlar on (17mm wide). Went like a 70cc w/ stock pipe up to about 20, then like a 50cc up to 30, then like a bat out of hell up to 50. Really reminds me of my CR250 when the power band hits. Changed it down to 4.5 grams, but really didn't make much of a difference. Going to try out 3.5's with yellow clutch springs and lightened clutch shoes. I wanna make this thing stand up, and throw me off the back EDIT: By the way, when I took it out after putting the kevlar on, it hit 50 mph and the speedo lense flew off somewhere Debating on what color to paint the side panels. White or Blue. I'm thinking the side panels white to carry the theme, then the rear mudflap painted blue but cut off to look smooth and flush with the side panels.
