Hey John I follow most of this but am confused on how you made the variator fit the end of the yz crank? Probably obvious if I looked close but I do everything with my phone and the pics are a little small on a phone lol. Can't wait to see what you come up with next

The crank story was to be a few pages ahead, but here is how I did it.Bought a GY6-150 crank off ebay, pressed the crank apart, mounted it in the lathe and cut the crank wheel off with a hole saw, machined the shaft down to a rough size so the final dimension can be cut later,,Then the YZ crank wheel had its output shaft cut back to the bearing and carefully 4 jaw chucked into the lathe for exact centering(took a long time!),now for the kicker,,the darn YZ shaft is super hard tool steel!I thought the project was over but managed to take a million light cuts to get the hole size within .002" of my hardened reamer which went thru nicely to leave a smooth finish..Now I had a finished hole diameter so the GY6-150 vari shaft was cut for a press fit in the crank wheel..With much cussing and sweating the shaft was pressed in!The stock YZ had a 98mm rod,but I wanted a longer one to increase crankcase volume,,I chose a 105mm Pro-X rod kit and pressed it together, then spent many sessions getting the crank true..Now we have a YZ crank with a variator shaft on it!!

You make it look like it came with instructions John . I mean, to sit and look at the dragster it look like its not the first . I know its the first of its kind and you did a more than wonderful job on it! Only one in the world as far as i know.. The engine is amazing! They should have offered a CVT YZ125. Ive riden the dirtbikes and could never have imagined what they would do with a CVT lol. It runs so well across the whole board its almost creepy! Reminds me of a boosted car that idles smooth. We are running a 150vari with a Mina rear section, Mina belt (need a few more if anyone can help!) Here are some updates to date. Seat covered with old Zuma vinyl. Front firing installed. I plan on painting this on the frame, both sides... Credit must be given to the pro,s. I envy the life out of what John has built. Thanks for all the talent and hard work put into this master piece Mr 190mech! And thank you all for the support here at home, 49ccscoot.com

BTW the bar hanging off the front of the stand is a solid pipe for "counter weight" with this thing slid in the stand/scoot will not move.

does it still shift or manually set in gear and relies on cvt doing work? so your using a 115mm vari and what size TD lol read/look at the thread... Its all there. The 6-speed manual gearbox is gone! CVT only! ITs an aftermarket NCY 150GY6 vari with a Minarelli Hoca rear section. Eventually i will be doing some CVT changes as this combo is not good for the most belt travel. It really works good for what we need it to do. Just need more belts! lol

I haven't had much time for the computer but I wanted to make sure to tell John he done/does a hell of a job. I've had the pleasure of being on site when Robert started and rode "Snoopy" and damn it sounds mean as hell.
