Lol, thanks guys! The engine is rated somewhere around 30HP.. In the vid the front brakes are dragging a bit. Runs good, good on fuel too. We use a small lawnmower fuel cell and i can get an easy 3-5 passes without even looking.

that sucks. this is the only scoot that runs close to the one i race. the one i race does 8.5s in the 1/8 mile and i have ran a 1/4 mile let off before the end and ran a 14sec lol

Shooting for 12s with my ride. I should have enough gear to pull the whole 1/4 without lifting. In testing i know i have run a quarter or real close. At the drag strip i ran it well past the traps and never lifted to see what happened and it worked out well.
I think its got 7,s in the 1/8th with a shorter gear?

I wish i had some good stuff to share but i dont. Other things in life got me tied up all summer. The dragscoot is in the heated garage now with the trans all apart. I cant make up my mind what gear i want to put back in it? I have all sorts of ratios these days from 13,s to low 9,s. It had a set of 10:25,s and never really "geared out" in the 1/8th at 80MPH. I guess what i am getting at is should i leave the gear alone at 10:25 and ease on the power to lower the ET in the 1/8th and still be able to run a 1/4, or should i leave the 1/4mile out of the picture and try a bit shorter ratio and get closer or even into the 7,s in the 1/8th?
Final drive ratios are funny in CVT driven engines IMO. It seems if the power is there a scooter will actually take off quicker and go faster on top-end with a taller gear. With a fixed geared machine such as a motorcycle or car even you will notice the change in gear ratio immensely from launch to traps. The CVT driven apps seem to "soak up" or "slip" the difference. Gear ratio can make a whole new machine for sure.

I see. It's a sort of auto continuously variable port size control. I get it. You're running at high RPM all the time so no need for it but when you have a manual tranny with an actual power band to wind out it helps the engine produce more low end and get better mileage if I comprehended it right. Have you tried playing with slightly different positions or would that be moot?

I'd love to see what Snoopy can do in the 1/4, but I guess what gears you go with should depend on where you actually think you'll end up racing. Even with my fat self on T1 that has way way less power, the ~13.5 gears didn't seem to take off quicker than the ~10.1 gears. That MX hybrid would probably be a huge handful with anything deeper than the current gears (as if it's not now) from the intial hit being slightly stronger with the greater mechanical advantage, but I don't know that you'd see anything positive after that. Hard to know for sure without trying it.
