Good job Dave! I can't wait to do mine! First I need more confidence in it and in what's running. I'm going outside now to play with electricity. YAY!

In between hanging shelves in the garage for parts and the NASCAR race I'm getting a little work on the front on the cover.

Thanks guys! I paid a guy with a cnc $100 to do the first one because I didn't want to screw it up. That's the one that's back on it now for the time being. I couldn't imagine not doing it myself now. The aluminum is easy to shape with a big file and smaller ones for the corners. I did use your drill holes first method this time and then got close with a burr then file. Drilling it first saves time and cut off discs.

Last week I had a fuel leak that I thought was a loose vacuum petcock but tightening it didn't fix it. When I pulled it the o-ring was torn. So it was time to go gravity fed with a petcock. Easy right? Wrong. I got a 1/4" npt tap and while struggling with it I made a hair line crack in the weld that connects the threaded pipe to the tank. So I had to pull the rear plastics and tank. I ground the area down and went to weld it and blew my scooter up! Kaboom! Guess I should of drained the fuel.

Just kidding. I used jbweld, let it sit over night and put it all back together with a shutoff I can't remember to shut off or turn on. Oh well it works and it's dry. I can just get my hand between the mount rod and undertail to work the valve and it's out of view.

Any issues with running leaded fuel? There are 5 or 6 stations around me that sell 106 octane leaded race gas. For a toy fuel cost isn't a problem. Can you run enough extra compression and timing to make it worth the effort? Sent from my SPH-L720 using proboards

I did a where to buy racing fuel search last night and came up with nothing. We do have Witham Field though. I don't know what's involved in buying fuel. I could call Galaxy Aviation and ask. I know there are different types. What would I be looking for?

Since changing to a #40 slide and w7 needle I was having some low idle issues at start up and then it would go high. Obviously lean. So I retuned the carb. I had tried several pilot jets before the slide and needle swap and never could get it to run good with the a/f screw more than a 1/3 turn out. Now it's 1 1/2 out, starts first kick when cold, no choke to a nice steady 1750 rpm. I don't know much about the differences in slides but read a post that corrosion made and got to thinking it was worth a shot. So far so good. I also got an NGK boot from Gary at gforce(1 day) still waiting on one I ordered locally a week ago. So know more boot falling off.
