Does anyone have a line on a set of horizontal Mina cases? I’m kicking around the idea of mounting up my 86cc Bidalot motor this winter.

The cases aren’t too expensive new from Yamaha, it’s all the other parts that add up. Hardware, bearings, seals, clips etc. Occasionally they come up on eBay for cheap but there hasn’t been much on there lately.

I’ve really been logging the miles on the old girl lately, working on getting the tune 💯. I’m still running the S6 race 70cc, R1400 and a 19mm dell and I feel I’ve got it tuned pretty good. So like all of us I’ve decided to change things up again. Tonight I switched back to a PWK 28mm carb, more on that later... I’m going to be going back to my MXS Race 70cc. I’ve never had the R1400 and MXS paired up together and I really think should. The MXS and my old pipe (Most Wicked) got me too 73mph. The R1400 is the big dawg pipe in the Prebug world so it should be a rowdy setup. I’m going to change one thing at a time and see how much of a change (speed wise) the bigger carb, and cylinder swap will make. Now back to the carb swap.....
So I had the PWK that was on it sitting on the shelf that hasn’t been touched since it came off this scoot. So I figured this would be a quick 15 minute swap and I’d put testing again, WRONG! I kicked this fucking thing so many times today my goddam leg hurts. I parked it running perfect with the 19mm dell so I figured it had to be PWK. I cleaned it multiple times, swapped pilot jets, main jets, needles everything countless times. I have two 28mm PWK carbs so I swap the other one on and nothing, not even trying to start. WTF! I put the dell back on and it fired up first kick??? So I knew it was a carb thing now. I threw the PWK back on and once again not even a fart 💨. So now I’m just staring at it like an idiot and I noticed the nuts for the exhaust studs had backed off. I mean they were barely hanging on. So I tightened them up and Bam! It starts after three kicks and runs like a champ. I assuming with that bad of a exhaust leak and the bigger carb it couldn’t pull the mixture in and fire up, but I could with the small 19mm carb??? If someone knows for sure I’d love to get an explanation. Anyways what a nightmare two loose nuts caused me!

All I can say is wow! The difference between the 19mm dell and the PWK 28mm is crazy. The max rpm I’d see with the 19mm was 11,200. And with zero tuning I was seeing 12,100rpm with 28mm! All I did was swap carbs, nothing else. It’s so much more powerful everywhere I seriously can’t believe the performance increase. That little carb just couldn’t feed the big ol R1400. The MXS cylinder is going to be bat shit crazy with this pipe. Time to start putting money aside for a good iggy and this little AC motor is gonna hurt some feelings 😎

In the next day or two the MXS cylinder is going back on. I feel l never really seen what this thing is fully capable of. That Most Wicked pipe I had on it before I feel was a Athena race or S6 race or whatever it was called clone/rebadged pipe. As Im sure there race bore is also just a rebadged Athena Evo/ S6 MKI Race. There port timings are right in that 190/130 range, where as the MXS is 196/134. From what I understand that should be the sweet spot for the S6 R1400 pipe. Is a 13,000+ rpm Prebug too much to ask for? I didn’t think so either. The Full onion is coming boys! 👊
