Both carbs made in japan one on the left is newer. they both share the same basic design but the internal parts are different. There is also a clear difference in the needles.

Looks like your pretty far down on the rear pulley. Shims should help. I made one with a washer drilled out. 1.4 mm.

Went out for another test run. Lowered the needle one notch helped the bogging on takeoff. As for max speed....49mph at 7800 rpm speedo....51 GPS....

I need to take a ride to the beach. Wish I had a heads up system so I could watch this race and ride. A ride to meet around Clewiston would be cool if there were some more So. Florida riders around.

I believe the reason my belt has a tendency to want to slip is because of how polished the drive surfaces on the variator have become. Aren't they supposed to be a little rough? What final grit would you use if you were resurfacing one....220?

220 would be OK. They can be smoother than that and work fine, but shouldn't be polished.

Found another drive shaft oil seal that's leaking. I'm sick of messing around with this gearbox... Its time for all new bearings and seals. I've got a BBK coming in a few days going to drop this motor out and put the other one back in for now.
