I could do 60MPH with stock scooter gears, a Hoca variator, mod face, and mod stock TD, 788 17 28 Bando using an engine pipe combo that was most comfortable just over 9000RPM and I was 275-300lb. I did use a slightly larger rear tire (1/2" taller than yours), but it shouldn't have made much difference. 50-55 was normal cruise though. Looking at that vs yours it seems like you should be able to find 60MPH without much trouble. The gap from 60 to 70 is a pretty big one, or was for me. It took a much more worked over setup. 60 was a 54mm with mild durations for low end on a stock Polaris bottom end with teh trans above and a Phongeer street pipe. 70 was a 103cc with much wilder durations with a heavily modded Hoca vari and stock drive face, stock rear pulley, breaking belts at speed (or using an OR and doing it easy but expensive) running up to 12,000RPM with a custom pipe from 190mech on a long case with 10.1 gears and larger 12" wheel/tire. Takes a good bit more power and either RPM or gear. Of course other people seem to do it easy with a sport 70cc and pipe, but that sure has not been my experience.

We all know what some of those stock speedometers can tell a person I dont have much experience with that set-up (small wheel shortcase) but it seems like with such a tall gear you should be hitting 60-70 revving that high. I watched some of your vid and it still sounds like its "gearing out" or the CVT is binding at some point and not letting it shift out all the way? You said the vari is all but 2mm covered so it would seem you are getting good travel if the belt is in the right length. Say, what is your belt length? Sorry i dont know off the top but if its too long (a 788 say) it might not drop all the way down into the pulley. Some of the shortcases ive run and tuned did better with a shorter 780 belt. Just throwing out ideas man.. Maybe try another vari altogether if you can?

I just bought a 788 belt but have not got to play with it yet. The belt I was running in video is an old yamaha belt and more narrow. I guess it will just take some playing around. I have 2 larger than stock pulleys. I started smoothing the face of one of them down in hopes they can get closer and drive belt to outter edge. I will do some test and take some pics. Maybe my short yamaha belt has worn too much? I wouldn't beleive it myself that the gearing is 8:1 with the way it launches and slow top speed if I hadn't counted the rotations

I have a smaller diameter pulley but the guides that hold the back plate stick past the pulley about 1/4 inch. Sup with that?

I have a smaller diameter pulley but the guides that hold the back plate stick past the pulley about 1/4 inch. Sup with that? That's good because it would allow more travel without worrying about the plastic bits breaking or the two halves separating. The OR vari has that (as well as stock 139QMB 4T variators). Bad thing about it is that you prob cant't fit it with the starter clutch in place.

I went for a ride today with the new wider longer belt. I lost some take off and top speed. I know what needs to be done just need time. Those washers for the wristpin type thing that holds the cvt are hard to come by. But I think if I take some material off the fan side of the cvt I can get the belt down in there a lot more. There is about a 1-2 mm indentation where the wrist pin fits into the outside fan pully. That should get the belt down a bit more.

I bought a hoca vari today, was really close to getting mhr od kit. I don't asked to a guy from that atv place and he said no point in complete kit unless I see over 12k consistently. He said just get the vari. So I was said f it and bought the hoca. Hopefully I can get this thing past 60. Today I took stock vari and put in 3 12g weights and 3 4g. I was running 4 &5 g mixed. It was good but gearing out at 10500 only running 53 or close. I need someone to link me the hoca vari info and what rollers do I need? With those 3 12g in there ran like crap till 30 sounded like enduro bike! I did mark vari so I can see what is going on. Give me hope gI've me inspiration! !! I weigh 145 on a jog 8 1 gears (countwd clutch rotaion per wheel revolution) a 92 cc, I shoukd be flying!!

I'm sure they are on Amazon or Parts For Scooters just want to make sure I get right one as I had a hard time finding the right wheel. Thanks for help

Why does the small case and long case have the same measurements but different part numbers? I think 6004-2rs is what I need but what is the 6004lu ?

Should be the same thing I think. Not sure why I put them separate ATM unless the LU is open on one side or something.
