2strokd, Thank you for your offer. I actualy could use your help on something too. That CHT guage that.90GTVert donated is one that you have used in the past. When it arrives I will post the details, but I have never used or installed one. That package should be here today. The exhaust tomorrow, and I'm not sure about the carb from SITTICUSS or the bbk from nelson. As each piece arrives I will post pics and info. Thank you ro everyone. Chris

Now I just have to learn the spring color coding deal! Also the temp guage says their website has instructions. Hopefuly they will tell rather or not the guage of wire used. for an extension will alter the readings. Oh, I will put the stickers on the scoot once I am finished. I would hate to scratch one all to h*ll accidently. Again thanks Robert. Chris

I forgot how hard life is without impact guns.. this clutch bell nut is a major P.I.T.A. I dont know if I'll be able to get it off without an impact. I do have a buddy with one, but he is a long haul driver and will not be home for a couple weeks, so I'm open for suggestions.......

I've just put a wrench on the nut and hit the end of the wrench on the ground a few times to loosen it to take it apart.

I can't get the outer shell off. Another extremely tight nut/bolt on an E Ton..... Why am I not surprised. After a little thought I believe the reason is that they have been worked on by the local bike shop. They use giant pnuematic ratchets when assembling anything! I can understand an impact for disassembly, but not for assembly. The beamer that was stolen had been serviced there, the owner appokogized and replaced my rear wheel once he recognized the scoot. I'm just having trouble getting the clutch off to change the springs.

The carb, donated by sitticuss, should be here by friday. Tomorrow the pipe should arrive. The only in-transit donation that I can't track ( yet, nelson should be sending tracking # tonight ) is the bbk. I wilk forever be in the debt of those of you who donated to yhe cause. Thank you EVERYONE.

Put the tire on the ground, hold the rear brake, and then try the clutch nut.
For color coding the standard is blue = 1000, yellow = 1500, red = 2000. The gold springs have it printed on them.

Thanks 90, I have tried that too. Thanx for the color code. I changed the flattened rollers they apprear to have been 6 grams, I opted for 3x4 & 3x6 for a 5 gram average. When the pipe arrives I'll take a test run. If this one is like the one I had, it will creep off the line then about ten srconds later it will start screamin'. Thats why I am TRYING to change the contra/clutch springs for later clutch grab. Won't the lower weights give slightly the same effect? I still want to change the springs out. Back to work...... Tried to get the on line manual for the temp gauge, but their website cant find my guage, all search results return as rechargeable batteries. I could loop the sensor around the plug and just tempmount the guage next to the oil tank. Can't I? I'll ask 2strokd if I have any troubles, since he has used these before. Still no luck on the clutch removal though......: Seems to be jyst one of those days......

Lighter weights and stiffer contra have a similar effect. The clutch springs do their own thing for the most part. Clutch springs will help you right off the line. The roller and contra tuning will take over from there.

Oh, cool. Good to know. Idealy, once engaged the clutch doesn't slip, right? A little slippage is necessary at start I thought, then solidity. I am going to have to wait on an impact to change any springs, but everything else can be.done as parts arrive. Thanks for the info. Chris

Right. It will slip as it engages and then it's engaged till you slow down.
