Lower compression could mean lower CHT, but air leaks could mean lean higher CHT.
You can prob find a pdf on the phone if you search up the model number.

Ok, found phone instructions, did what they said to no avail. I am going to take the phone to radio shack to see if it can be fixed. I keep trying, but it wil not record. IDK. Okay, put the scoot back together. Now the damn battery is dead. Kicked it and it started fine. The stator is charging, but the battery will not charge. Everything still works, off the stator but ni e start. I geuss the batt just konked out. It was mine from my old scoot, my junkyard guy gave me a new one when I bought the twins and I put it in my old scoot and used my old one for the build. I geuss thats what I get.lol Still runs cool, but with more power now. Doesn't take as long to warm up. Wish like hell u guys could.see/hear this beast. U will soon, if I hsve to borrow a video cam. Thanks for listening. Chris

Ya know Chris, when you selected the title for this thread, little did you know how accurate it is. You did a build that anybody can do and had the involvement of the 49ccScoot community.

When I started this thread it was supposed to be a cheap easily replicated build, that just about anybody could do. However, circumstances nearly forced me to kill the project.:what: Thats when it happened: the members of this forum reminded me that there are decent people in this world. Thanks to you guys not only is the build mechanicaly finished, it's a screamer:D Now I just have to figure out what can be done with the way she looks. Mainly the guage cluster ( useless though it is! ) Any ideas?

I've been looking at the vento digital cluster on eBay. Someone here did one on a custom build and figured out the wiring. I've been looking with a little trimming I think it would fit in a 02 beemer and a plus on it is you get a tach built in. That or you could golike Ryan did naked bars with round speedo and tach. Vento setup is about 30 and the round is about 40 for the pair off of ebay

I am relitively sure I could get the wiring, but the asthetics worry me a little. I could maybe figure the wiring, and if not I am sure it is posted somewhere. Are the Vento guages accurate, or are they like other stock instrumentation? Feel free to chime in everyone. I think this is the route I will go. I rented the house, so I will have a little extra cash on the first of April. Chris

The vento cluster is shaped slightly different than the Eton but looks completely doable. I'll find the info tomorrow and forward it to you remind me if I forget. It's just like a stock cluster but digital readout with a tach. The round stuff is cool also but doesn't have the turn high beam and oil indicator lights

Well, I found a couple of clusters that I like the look of, I just can't make up my mind. Moofus, I got the bike started again, just blew the o-ring. I thought the one I got from the local powersports place looked flimsy. I have the one that was in the kit when nelson shipped it in there now. I'll order one myself, I won't let the shop burn me again. I was forced into a ditch yesterday, hard. The exhaust caught a rock oon the bottom and broke my right side eengine case. The engine still runs nothing vital is gone but the exhaust brackets are. For now I made a thin steel bracket tto hold the weight of the pipe. I am going to eventualy get a new bottom end, but for now I'll just have a 1/8" steel brace fabbed at a machine shop. If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any! Chris

Thanks guys. It does mean a lot to me, to hear your supportive words. The only vote of confidence/ support I get around here are from my wife. I'm sure she means it, but its nice to hear from someone else every now & then too. Keep the rubber to the road guys. Chris
