Anybody ever had the clutch spring pull through the clutch shoe eye? I havent but mine is real close to doing that. I managed to straighten my old clutch plate back out for now but im afraid to ride much more with it.

Never had one pull through. I've had clutch shoes wear from using heavy springs, like you, but I replaced the clutch before it made me too nervous.

Funny, this is about how i had this smaller clutch pictured in my head before i took it back out. You can see the wear marks after 20 miles. The small one in the big bell Heres my old clutch patched up and sitting back in the bell I ended up using small cuts of vac hose as the rubber "stops" for the shoes. Its a bit smaller in diameter but seems to be working good for now. You can see how bad the spring eyes are worn in this pic also. Getting a new clutch asap, hope this one holds up Oh, i straightened the clutch plate with my vice as close as my balls would let me . New clutch is gonna have a better plate!

So have you chose a new clutch already? The MRP clutch is probably pretty good for the price. I have yet to give one a fair shot. The first one that broke a spring and destroyed itself was ignorance on my part. That was when I first got into the scooter and never knew there were multiple sizes of clutches. 107mm MRP clutch in a stock 112mm bell equaled broken clutch spring, reuined clutch, and ruined bell. This last go-round, for the 99cc this time, I ordered a 107mm MRP clutch and a 107mm stock bell. I put 'em on and it slipped like crazy. I ended up finding out that I was sent a 107mm clutch but a 112mm bell. With the torque that the 99cc puts out it wouldn't grab like the 70cc would. It just slipped and slipped. Even when it settled it I think it was still slipping a little. It's been sitting around. I ordered a Stage 6 vented 107mm clutch bell over the weekend because the price was pretty good ($50) and they claim it's over 180g lighter than the Malossi wing bell and 90g lighter than Polini's Evolution bell. So for $100ish plus shipping you can have what I believe will be a good clutch and bell. You might be able to get it cheaper, maybe talk to Jeremy and see what he can do.
Naraku makes a clutch that's pretty affordable too. They make a 112mm clutch bell that I really like, but I've never seen it for 107mm. Their bell has very large vents on the face and it's cross drilled on the contact area.

hhhhm, I haven't bought one yet...Thank you very much for the info. I'm getting a good clutch and bell, prefably a combo deal. Its obvious the stock style clutches dont like the abuse of a decent bb and a wheelie addict lol. Have you seen Dr.Pulley,s clutch? I think its too much but i like the idea.

Thinking about getting a 105mm setup? I know its not much but a smaller clutch and bell would equal less rotating weight/mass right? Are the shafts the same size? Im pretty sure they are, i keep reading about a diff in years but no mention of shafts, or spline counts. EDIT: Less weight with the right combo that is

As far as I know the shafts are the same. Never messed with a 105mm to be sure though. The only downside I've heard of with 107mm or 105mm setups is that you have less surface area so the 112mm should be capable of better grip. That said, most of the high end stuff is 107mm, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

I like the second one for $90, might just order that one. I have had good luck with my Prodigy,s shock i bought from Autotech(very nice BTW), and his shipping is FAST (probably cause hes a day ahead lol), and thats a good deal i think. He doesnt mention the size? Ohh well, its a combo, and if it were incorrect im sure Auto would fix the problem. hhhmmm, new nuts and springs too? Sounds like a good idea...
