I saw it and wasn't even thinking that you hadn't got an aftermarket vari yet.

It's a good deal if everything is decent. You said you liked your Prodigy shock and Prodigy products usually get pretty good reviews.
I just noticed in the pic that there is a blue dot on the front of the clutch bell. It looks like an indentation. Hopefully it's been balanced.

Maybe it's the performance that's oversized?

I got my stuff in Saturday and was to busy to play till yesterday but im very happy with the clutch and bell, the vari is pretty good too . Sat started off being a crappy day for me. I checked the shipping stats for my parts and usps said they were in customs still so i was bummed that i couldnt ride another day. I joked earlier about putting everything back together so i could ride, but as soon as i did that my parts would come. So im waiting on someone to drop off a scooter Saturday and i decide to put Skeedr back together anyway for a little fix so i would feel better , he had spider webs on him for cryin out loud , its been a week lol! I got the cvt all back in and went for a ride up and down the street. I was unimpressed to say the least, clutch slippage bad, i also had crappy ratio changes and a new surging in the cvt . By then im thinking come on parts, and my day wasnt getting any better ! I went home and pulled the cover, started the motor and noticed the vari face wobbling around like it was bent . By then i was ready to go back to bed and start the whole day over when my customer showed up. 30min later im standing with a carb in my hand and my wife comes walking up the drive from the mailbox with a cardboard box in her hands...I look at her with that pretty shine in her eyes then look down at the box...Ohhh, whats that? Looks like a shipping label? Is that? Could it be? But no, usps says it still in customs ...Wait shes headed this way...IT IS!! My parts, my parts ;D. Shoot i still gotta finish this Roketa , oh well my suns a shinen now lol. So i put the fix on the customers scooter and then i got to play ! Heres what i got in the box Here is the clutch, new on the right. And thats about when my batteries went dead in the cam Not really much difference in clutches except maybe pad material and quality, quality goes far. The clutch bell is were the money is on the setup. I didnt realize how worn my bell was until i got this one . The vari is nice! I really wish i would have gotten pics of it before a belt ran on it. The ramps are allot longer with different angles. At first i just put everything in the way it was. The clutch came with 1,500,s and i was using a 1,500 torque and 4.5 Dr.P sliders so thats how i put it back together to keep changes 1 at a time. I was supprised at how much smoother everything was running. The clutch kicked in the same rpm with 1500,s as the old one did with 2000,s, and kick it did ;D. The vari works well right out of the box so im leaving it be for now, the 4.5,s are perfect. I did end up switching out the torque for a fresh 1,000blue. Im not sure if it was because the spring was new or what but it didnt want to upshift as well with a 2000yellow, the 1000 fixed that. I also ended up putting in a new set of 2000red clutch springs for about a 6k dig. Im happy to say that my hard launches are back and better than ever, this time w/out any vari modding or funny spacing. Almost took out the taillight lens This is a good buy from Carlos Autotech355 on ebay ;D

I was looking at some more advantages of the sliding weights over roller types and noticed that the vari will open more with sliders than with rollers by about a 1/2mm. That might not sound like much till its gone. I put a straight edge across the backing plate and measured the gap between the edge and the vari, it came out to be about 1mm with sliders and 1-1/2mm with rollers. That should mean the vari opens a half mm more with sliders in. I suspected it opened more but never checked nor measured the difference. Im not saying run out and buy a set and you will have more hp and be faster than ever, they arent going to do that but in my case they do work better then rollers and THEY LAST! Ive got miles on mine (since Feb.) with no wear, none. I coated the surface areas with graphite powder and thats it, no wear yet, and the graphite stays. Only problem is the price, they are more $ and people have said that the weights are different between rollers and sliders, i run the same weight sliders as i did rollers so i havent had this problem. I could see why that thought would detour people from spending the extra money on a set.

lol Sounds just like me waiting for parts. I walk to the mailbox and opening the door is a tense moment. Will I be running back to the house like a soccer player that just scored a goal, or will I be taking the walk of shame?
Glad the kit is working out so well for you. Is the belt going all the way down in the variator? Sound like it is. That's pretty sweet for an un-modded setup.

It comes real close to the bottom, almost to close to tell but ive seen it ride on the vari boss before so i know when its ALL the way down. I dont know how cause to look at them the vari belt ramps are very similar, but then again the whole things different so maybe im missing something? (if that made sence?)... I forgot to mention that my scoot changes ratio before it goes too. I was looking at the pulleys movement vrs clutch engagement and mine does the same thing yours does if i have the 1000 torque in. It wont do it with the 1500 in.

Well, I guess in a way it's a good thing that the pulleys are changing ratio a little. At least that way you know there's some pressure being applied to the belt to keep it from slipping.

Ahhh yes, new parts could make a man new for awhile! New parts are working great! I have a new issue, i have had a chatter coming from the clutch area for a little while now. First i put in a new cover bearing, it still chattered so i figured the clutch was noisy. I got the new clutch in and it still did it but only when you arent under full load, if you lean on the throttle it stops and your off. Anyhow i found it to be the drive shaft "pin" that sits in the bearing is a bit smaller in diameter than the bearings ID so it rattles around in there until i put a load on it. I have been thinking of a way to fix this? One way is to replace the inner d-shaft bearings and maybe the shaft also if its worn on the end? I dont know the specs, can you measure the diameter of yours Brent? Maybe the ID of your bearing too if you could? Have you had this problem? Another way to temporarily fix it is to make a sleeve or bushing for the DS. I did this with foil tape as more of an experiment than a fix and its working but prob not for long.
