Thanks, didnt know that. I got the stock cylinder all cleaned up and ready to go on. Im going to see how it runs gasket less. The piston is close to clearing the ex.port at BDC and still is in the hole a TDC and im outta gaskets and dont feel like making a set so what the hell right? I took my intake off and found no leaks . Gaskets were nice and dry on the inside but yet i get a oily trail on the case below the intake? I went ahead and cleaned it up and reinstalled it. I sure hope i dont have a case leak. Whats the easiest way to tell? I thought about shooting the seal area with carb cleaner. Works on everything else gas powered i have worked on with a vac leak.?. This is the cheapest bb kit out there (ive found). Not gonna buy it, tempting though cause its so cheap cgi.ebay.com/Yamaha-Jog-3KJ-E-Ton-Beamer-47mm-Big-Bore-Kit_W0QQitemZ370273289304QQcmdZViewItemQQptZOther_Vehicle_Parts?hash=item5636020458

Carb cleaner might work. You could also see if it comes back after being cleaned up. If you do think there's a leak, before deciding to split the cases, you might wanna ppulle the fan, flywheel, and stator and check the bolts that help hold the cases together. They are just M6 IIRC so just make sure they're snug. Should be 6-8ft-lbs.

Sorry about your malady. I've been in your exact same situation two or three times before. Loved the little poem. If you haven't put it back on yet maybe you should play with the exhaust and maybe the boost port timings a little bit just for the experience. Good luck with whatever you decide. 190mech's temp gage is looking like a better idea to me all the time.

I got it all back to stock displacement and running pretty good, a bit rich a first but i wanted to start rich. Im getting ready to put a 82main in and go for a ride. Im hoping that leak is gone, so far so good but ive only put a few miles on it. I was thinking it seems like the stock cylinder is a bit stronger than before, then i remembered that i never ran it with this pipe. I did widen the exhaust port just a bit too. Its sure no Polini Sport but it will do for now . Im getting a temp gauge, new carb, and probably a new pipe before i go with 70cc,s again just to be safe.

Hey, back in the saddle again! I want to do that temp gauge thing to mine too. Just makes too much sense.

Your leak could be coming from your exh. flange. If the oil is very dark or black this is probably where it is coming from. I assume your injection system is completely removed.

The 90cc fan has larger fins. It definitely pulls more air. 50cc (although they usually have a center section) 90cc I'd suggest the 90cc fans to anyone. I left my fan off for a quick test run (1 mile) and it melted the plastic shroud to the engine. Since then, obviously no test runs without a shround and I tape the seams in the engine shroud sections to keep as much air in as possible. I have a 90cc fan on one of my motors. I was wondering why it looked so different. I might have to throw it on my good engine and see if it makes a difference. Come to think of it, the engine its on has an unusually large cylinder. It almost looks like 70cc or so, I've never had it apart so I'm not sure.

Check the engine number. maybe you'll get lucky and see a 50 or 52 instead of 40 in there. If you've rode it and it doesn't have way more torque than a 50, prob not.

I've never had either of my spare engines fired up since I got them. They both have around 1000 miles on them though. when I took the plastic off of the cylinders, I thought I saw the word "Linhai" cast into the cylinder.

The autotech355 70cc kits come with a 'squirrel cage' fan which is heaps better than that blade fan.Have you looked for an alternate piston of your size?Is it a 47,47.6 or 48mm,10 or 12mm pin?Ya might consider one of these Traxx CHT Gauges so you can see if Skeeder is sweating down there..

The exhaust wasnt leaking, thanks for the suggestion . I do run premix at 50:1 and have never had a problem. Im getting a CHT gauge asap. It is nice to be back on Skeedr with or without power. I bet this wouldnt have happened if i already had one. What kinda temps you running 190mech? Or have you had a chance to ride much with it? reign, if your motor came with that fan your day might have just gottn better. That is if its a 90cc. Still wanna sell if it is? ;D

190mech my piston is a 46mm bore with a 10mm pin hole. I didnt notice it was a 46mm piston, that is until i got the rings stuck the first time . I just cant see spending half or more of the total price for a bb kit just for the piston . I could clean it up and use it again. I looked at it closer last night and its scored but its not that bad. It was just enough to stick the upper ring. I might just buy a carb and a CHT gauge and take it to round three . I might just have to make one of thoughs pressure testers, thanks for the link 190mech

hmm, I just took the fan off and threw it on my engine, but I took a look at the cylinder again. It says "LINHAI 1E40FM" on the cylinder.

That's a 40mm bore (49cc). D'oh. Nothing wrong with a 50cc, but 90cc would have been a nice find.
