That's a 40mm bore (49cc). D'oh. Nothing wrong with a 50cc, but 90cc would have been a nice find. Strange, because this is the engine that came with a carb with a 82.5 upjet. I've tried to get that same 82.5 running on my 50cc and it did nothing but bog no matter how much I messed with the screws. At least it had the better fan on it though!

My 90cc had a carb and jet about the same as the 50cc. If you really think it's bigger, pull the head off and measure the bore.

Nothing to be disappointed about either way, I wish I had spare minarelli engines just lying around. lol

I've got a 48mm piston kit that autotech355 included in my original kit.I cant use it as my CPI uses a 12mm pin.Its yours if you can use it,you'll have to bore your cylinder though.

Hey thanks a ton 190mech, mighty nice of you! Im not sure i can use it though. If i bored the 46mm cylinder to a 48mm bore wouldnt that change my ports and timing? hhhmmm....

I've seen folks elsewhere say that stock cylinders could be bored up over 50mm. I would think that, given the angles some ports enter, that would change timing. Perhaps it would be a very minimal difference when you're only knocking off 1mm (0.039") from the wall. If you do decide to try, it may not be a bad idea to make a port map before and after to see what changed and hopefully allow you to get everything back to the specs you want.

PM,ed... I would like to try and get some more top end outta one of these kit without loosing any of the bottom end punch that makes them special. I need to do more homework myself before attempting but some good port work might do the job. Yeah im interested for sure. Lets see what this kit acts like with a bigger carb and maybe some porting.

I sure miss that torque on these windy days . On top off not having the power of the 70cc Skeedr ran like crap today all day, i just didnt have time to figure out why. It acted rich even sputtering when going from 3/4 to full throttle and sometimes from a stop going to WOT it would sputter like it is rich. I do still have a 70cc boost bottle hooked up but that wasnt a problem before today with the 49cc jug on. I know a 49cc boost bottle would help I parked it for the night, looked at a few things and noticed my fuel filter is about empty again . I was thinking "this is the last time i am going to have this problem, i will drill the petcock out and eliminate the vac source and it will be gravity feed from now on". Then i thought, what is causing this? Most of the time my fuel filter is full, every once in a while i have problems with flow. Could this be more than just a bad petcock?

Its not unusual to have an air bubble in a fuel filter,ya could flow test it by applying vacuum to the petcock vac hose..I had one bust the diaphram and leak fuel thru the vac hose making a very rich situation..

I guess the 70cc boost bottle caused me to loose some vac.?. I unhooked it yesterday and the filter is staying full. lol duh, i shouldnt have had a 70 bottle on a 50 anyway. It runs allot better now too. I really didnt think it would make that much of a diff. Maybe the bottle is leaking? I will check it out.
