I checked the site but it's a bit confusing for a newbie like myself. $15 for a set sounds reasonable. I got my scoot to go over 50mph on a downhill run I think a re-jet kit would be more than enough to get the little extra kick that I need. Sent from my Nokia Lumia 822 using Tapatalk

Not necessarily. Some engines with the 'P' have longer valves (69mm instead if 64mm), some don't. Some engines have 49cc even with the 'P'.
It's hard to say what the 'P' means, as engines are built differently (must depend on using up extra parts).
The only way to tell is to pull the head and measure the bore in millimeters.

It is leaking a considerable amount of oil, clear at the front, black at the back. I think the oil is getting into the transmission box and causing the belt to slip. Couple scooter shops I stopped by said its probably the main seal, one estimated $110, another shop, which a guy is running out of his garage said $75, but $45 even if he couldn't do it lol. I'm thinking of just doing it myself since I know what I'm looking for.
The main seal these guys are talking about, is it just a standard cardboard gasket? If so I can probably just cut a new one out of some cardboard and put a bunch of gasket sealant on it, that should solve the problem.

No it's not cardboard. It's a seal. Not a gasket. Changing it isn't that hard. Getting to it is a little work.

Definitely oil in the transmission. How do I get to the main seal? Sent from my Nokia Lumia 822 using Tapatalk Attachments:

You'll need to order a new one. Try partsforscooters. You'll have to remove the variator and large starter gear behind it from the crank.

There's no gasket on the transmission cover, and from what I have seen online, there should be one.

2stroke, is there any way you can give me any more detailed info on this process? I have searched and haven't found anything relevant enough. I have some gasket repair treatment left over. Would that help? At least as a temporary treatment? I'm still paying on a title loan and just need this to work for me on the cheap for the next few weeks.

I've done so many seals on my TaoTao and they never seal long. I dunno what the deal is. I put Permatex Ultra Grey on the outer edge and just a little grease on the ID.
May be of use for getting to the seal. Yours is a bit different than what I'm working on here, but similar concept.

I think I know exactly what you're talking about. You're talking about the big gear towards the front, the one the kick start and electric starter turns? So there's a rubber ring behind there?

Excellent. My phone was a bit delayed on that last response lol. But everything seems easy enough. I wonder if it would be worthwhile to replace the belt while I'm in there, only at about 950 miles

Yep and it's the one that usually goes. Have to replace mine this week too, there not hard to change at all as long as you have an impact to break the nut.
