Stock is the 19.8x30x5. I've used a bunch and I hate them all. lol I've used them from PFS and out of the $10 shipped kits including 4 engine/gearbox seals on eBay and I've bought them in different sizes like 19x30x5 and 19x31x5 and 19x30x7 and nothing works reliably for me. Something has got to be up with these engines or cranks... or every seal I've tried sucks.

Seals and bearings are generic sizes and not specific to scooters. The case is cheap aluminum but the crank is hardened steel.

If that's the case then I will order the first seal that I linked. It just looks sturdier to me. I will update on the success of this seal. Wouldn't it be great if somebody found one that was dependable? Glad I came here and asked instead of shelling out $110 for a simple repair.

Yeah you can learn enough to save yourself some cash on paying people to do work, but with that knowledge you'll spend more on the parts to do what you have learned. Welcome to the insanity!

Meaning... With the knowledge I'll end up going upgrade-crazy? I don't think I'll mind that. I have the same problem with computers and prefer to build from scratch or barebones kits vs buying brand name models with inferior performance/price

Doesn't hurt to try. Wouldn't think the seals could be any worse at least. Please let us know if you find one that works long term.

It's a few bucks more expensive, and I figure if it manages to last longer at all, it'll be worth the extra cost. Better to pay twice as much for it and have it last even 1/4 longer, at least if you factor in the labor it takes to replace. At a glance it looks to be higher quality, at least the vendor seems to know more about it. And under warranty it says it has a factory warranty. Better than nothing. What's the average life expectancy on one of the standard rings?

They should last a long time. They just don't. The last Chinese 139QMB I owned I never had trouble with them. It's not something I hear from folks with Kymcos powered by these engines. Seems like something that has been happening more recently with Chinese scoots.

That's for a 150cc scoot. You sure you ordered the correct parts?
