Thanks guys! Well, the eufory of the first startup is already faded away...encountered a next set of problems. As you might remember, i use yamaha neo's fork legs. On its own thats not a problem at all, they're also 26mm like the axis legs. BUT, the neo's uses a 12 inch wheel with a 190mm rotor, so the caliper mounting on the neo's legs is farther away from the axle than with the axis legs. So i ordered a neo's 190mm rotor, to find out later that it doesn't fit the axis wheel . So now im stuck to the tiny 150mm rotor with the 190mm caliper mounting. And the thing is, now the pads only grab the outer 25% of the disk...NOT ideal at all. And maybe kinda dangerous...So i'll have to swap back to the axis legs, put new seals in and rebuid + flush the damn thing. Not looking forward to that! Also the cht meter is crap. The readings vary with electrical load. When the revs change, i use the blinkers, use the horn, use the brakes...the reading changes. Also im still waiting for an front axle set with spacers and speedo drive. So i can't ride it yet So...still some stuff to do!

Two steps forward, one step back...But thats what you get when you build stuff. You'll encounter things you didn't anticipate for.
At least the other things are moving along well. Got the electric system working fine and most of the bodypanels and everything under there sorted out.

Had the first testrun today. It was a great succes! The engine was and is still in tune and thats really nice. It starts easy, one kick. Idles nice but at the border of too lean. It pulls nicely, great power but from 1/8 to 1/4 throttle its too rich. Have to try a slide with a bigger cutaway. Well...i guess i have to do a speed run soon to see if any of my efforts pay off for that matter. But first i need to get all the rest sorted out for the roadtrip to france next monday!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a runner! This video shows the first moments of life of the engine. Wants to fire up right away with the first kick! I unscrewed the idle screw so in case something wasn't right the engines wouldn't go wild. What rear Shock does your scoot have?

Sebac HP6 260mm. Oldskool shock with adjustable dampening. The brandname Sebac doesn't excist anymore. I bought it new though for about €60. Guess its old stock they needed to get rid of.

Made a few testrun since i got it running. It's too rich @ 1/4 throttle and im in doubt how to solve that. It's running truly perfectly everywhere but @ 1/4 throtle and idles nice. So, i can do this: - Drop the needle 1 position. It will lean out the current rich spot but also the part just past 1/4 throttle. So to solve that i could place a bigger jet. But im afraid that brings me back in the same situation i am currently in. Comments on this statement? - Swap the needle from the current M3 to a M1. The M1 needle has the same dimensions as my current M3 needle but has a shorter taper compared to the M3 needle. Thus with that M1 needle, the taper (and thus richening of the mixture) will begin beyond the current point or throttle position as you will. Ofcourse i could try both...but im trying to decide what to try first

I manually advanced the timing by elongating the holes on the stator and rotating it- and it totally cleared up a 1/4 throttle richness 4 me....

Hmm..that might work yeah! Im currently running the Athena cdi with variable advance. I don't know for sure how many degrees advance i have right now, don't have the tools to measure it so i want to leave the timing alone for now. Evenmore because i'm riding the axis to France next monday! Don't want to end up on the side of the road with a hole in the piston I swapped the the M3 needle to a M1 needle and the richness seems a little bit less now. Don't know for sure because it started raining 2 minutes after i left goddamn f*cking Dutch climate haha! I'll check again tomorrow.

Been doing some testdriving today to check the mixture at various throttle positions. With this M1 needle the low end richness is partailly gone. Only really down low it feels still a bit sluggish. I can solve that with a different slide i think. When i swapped to the M1 needle i noticed it got a little bit richer (i guess) at full throttle. When i go WOT it sometimes gives a little stutter. Only when the engine is really warm and pushed hard the stutter stays away. But it pulls really strong at 50% throttle so i hope it won't go lean in that area when i go down one jet size. Did some preparations for the road trip

Nice scoot! 70mph is as fast as my 2 stroke 125 Yammie enduro will go. Just curious.... how long did this last?
