You need to be careful on using that sensor on Air Cooled. There designed for liquid cooled and the temp range on some of them is lower on LC. Forgot to pump the pads out once did a renditions of the FlintStones at the end of my driveway! Yaba Daba Do Ive ran LC on AC heads just fine. Also had both style on the same head at the same time with the same results. I think i have the vid somewhere? Im not sayin head temo or coolant temp sensors are not or cant be off by many degrees. Just sayin you can use a LC on AC head just fine. I agree with some setups tolerable peak temps. I noticed when the topend was fresh on my DD it softseized at lower temps.. After it was broken in i exceeded those temps without trouble

The Gauge and sender I was referring to is the Stage 6 tach/temp unit. (koso). It only goes to 230 degrees Fh. You could be at 375, the gauge would read 230 degree's. It is was the same with the under plug sender. I guess it was the actual gauge, that was at fault. It would top out at 230 Fh. Not much use an an AC motor. I found it was only good for -50c to +110C . Okay for LC , but no go for AC. www.scoot-tuning.com/MULTIMETER-STAGE6-p/s6-4030.htm

The 761 Progrips I ordered from amazon came in the mail today. They are too long, and I didnt want to send them back so I trimmed a section out of each grip, and used hairspary to install them. I think they will work out ok, if not I just wasted $15

10,500 is about all you'll get because of the poor port layout of the 90+ stuff... are you saying that is all the motor is capable of due to the case? Or is this not including the fancy set ups? I am at 10,500 myself! Haha what are you? An aircraft mechanic?

Ended up getting a new lawnmower air filter today because the one on this scoot came off the other day while my buddy was taking a ride and got run-over. It was still usable, kinda! Anyway I found a slightly smaller version that should stay on this rear facing carb a lot better. I used the 36mm adapter wrapped with a few turns of electrical tape to mount this filter on a 21mm Dellorto Also found a small issue when tuning this scooter today. The gas tank barely holds a gallon of premix, and because the tank outlet is at the very front bottom of the tank, when you get down to about 1/8 of a tank, the fuel pushes to the back of the tank away from the outlet and you run out of gas, slow down, and the carb bowl fills up again, and it repeats. Threw me for a loop for a while! Premix is going to be a pita on this scoot for sure. I will have to carry a reserve can with me. I may also put the autolube system back on this scoot. I put a new bando belt, and a new stock clutch on today. I realized that I need a heavy clutch with weak springs to take advantage of this torque. The CVT was shifting before the clutch was grabbing even though I have a 1200 rpm short contra spring with a BB base. I hope the 6 gram sliders can compress the contra spring fully at WOT. I am getting close to being tuned, up to 3/4 throttle I think. I have not been able to do any WOT runs lately due to the weather. The launch is great, and it pulls very hard on the way up. It will be interesting to see what WOT will bring! I have about 11.2 : 1 final gearing, would anyone like to predict a top speed? I think at least 65 mph is in this scoot, with me on it.

Thats right Nelson! The transfer tunnels are too small due to the huge bore increase from the original 40mm bore, bore bigger, tunnels smaller..Not a good combination at all,but due to a 50cc design meant for utility use,its the best we can do..We got a bit more out of a 52mm with a lot of transfer port work, but the best route would be get a high end cylinder with larger port tunnels..

what tire size and what max rpm are you looking to hit. mine had to be around 64 tailing a truck (dad said he was going that fast) at 11k rpms. i have 11:1 gears as well.

Tires are 100/60 - 12" they look low profile. As far as max RPM's, I don't know yet, I have a couple other pipes I may try.

Dig the filters dude Yeah! They are Fram looking aren't they? All the young folks are saying? When I was young, before K&N came along I think, everyone had a orange Fram air filter, and the breather cover flipped over so you could see the Fram air filter.

Well the new filter came off, and of course it got ran over before I found it! I guess I will have to fab some type of retainer for it. I never had a problem using one on a front facing carb, but on this rear facing setup it is getting blown and or shook off. I didn't hear a difference when it came off, but I remember thinking why does it seem a bit lean all of the sudden? Lol!
Top speed is just over 57 mph ATM. I still do not know what RPM's are because I broke the krappy tach as I was installing it on the scooter but I think its around 9K or so.

I gave up trying to use the lawnmower filter on this rear facing carb setup. It would not stay on, and I could not figure an easy way to hold it on. I ended up going back to the kartbox style air box. I made some modifications to it as well as a mounting bracket. It still does not flow as well as the lawnmower filter, until I pull one of the pop in vents out, but at least it flows consistently. I also tweaked jetting just a bit. I went from a 42 PJ to a 40, and from a 94MJ to a 92. About 2 1/2 turns out on the mixture screw. The weather should be nice tomorrow, so I will likely get some scooter tuning time in for sure. The front brake caliper came today! I put it on and bled the system. It is awesome to have enough brakes to stop this thing now!
