Took it apart after loud crunchy noises. At least enough to find out the starter clutch bearing had come out and destroyed the crank bearing. Never heard of that before. It was running great too. Just started it up and it went. Hopefully the cylinder is okay. But the crank must be toasted. Will split the cases at the weekend.

If you were lucky maybe the crank could be separated from the bearings, but who knows what the debris did in the case. Curious to see the point of failure.

I have split the cases, and removed the bearings from the crank. If you had asked earlier I could have done a video. It sounded awful. 😬 I will get a picture of the bearing for you when my back is better. As I'm laying on the floor at the moment. 🤦

I find the laying on the floor bit aeroxbud easy once down there. It's the getting up bit and the aches I don't like after. The worse bit is getting down there starting the job and feeling around for that spanner that was there, getting up again and seeing it was underneath you even though you had looked and felt about for it.

I couldn't agree more. That is why a gofer is needed.

Today's jobs on the scooter went easily bend the post on the bulb holder to make dip beam work and finally after 6 months top up the rear brake reservoir.

Now did you make things easy and top up that brake reservoir with proper brake fluid, or use water, alcohol, or oil? LOL
