I don't know of any way to calibrate the stock speedos. The bicycle speedos work well once they are set up.

What is the stock jet size of a 50cc 2t carb. And what is a good starting point when you rejet your carb for a pipe and airbox?

Stock is usually somewhere around 70 main, but it varies. I usually start around a 90. It may be too rich, but that's better than too lean.

Has anyone delt with SCRAPPYDOGSCOOTERS? Are they a reliable place to order from? I like the prices they have.

I've dealt with them many times. Always fast delivery, and I'm across the country from them. I had one issue with a part and they resolved it.

Is this pipe worth buying? Just till I can afford a good pipe. I like that I can get it in red to match my triton. It looks well made in the picture. But my concern, is it has no name brand. Some of the threads said to stay away from the off brand pipes. Attachments:

Its a roll of the dice . Been there, i bought a off brand pipe and it ended up being a chambered POS in 2T standards. No power band at all  . If i were you and your really interested ide contact scrappy and see what they say about the pipe.

I picked this scooter up today for $200.00 The strange thing about this scooter is that it is a 4stroke with a 2stroke transmission. It has no power at all. So Im going to take my 49cc motor from the triton that I swapped with 90cc and put it in this scooter. But I don't want to put a lot of money into this scooter. So I want to get as much power out of the stock engine as I can. So I want to do some port modding. But don't know where to start. The stock triton motor moved my triton pretty good, 53mph top speed. This scooter is much lighter. So im thinking it should make this one run pretty quick. The motor looks like it should fit without any mods to the frame or mounts. But Im going to have to run premix. And was wondering what ratio mix i should run in it. Attachments:

Looks like a great buy. A friend of mine had one for a while, a Baja SC50. If it's not that scoot, it's a clone. They used to sell 'em at Pep Boys for $900 new. It's a GY6 50cc engine, but with the minarelli transmission. He stuck an 80cc BBK on it and it took off faster than my Triton, but I could still pass him after 40MPH easily (and he was half my weight) so I think you are doing the right thing with the swap. The first thing to check out on the stock cylinder is the exhaust port. There's a good chance that it's a half circle. If so, open that up and match it to the exhaust pipe that you'll be using. The kind of generic thing to do to most two strokes is to raise and widen the exhaust port (where it enters the cylinder) as well. That gives you more flow and will encourage power at higher revs. If you decide to try that, you would only want to try .5 to 1mm rasing and don't go too much wider either. Shaping the exhaust port improperly can cause your rings to snag and snap, trust me. You can add base gaskets or spacers to raise the cylinder a little and get increased port durations. That's about the only way for most of use to alter the transfer and boost ports because they are cut at a certain angle and the space you have to work in only allows the smallest professional style tools to reach them. If you are really going to figure much out, you should get a degree wheel and learn to use it so you can measure your port durations and decide what should or shouldn't be done. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=353You may also want to set your cylinder head to piston crown (squish) clearance. Altering the base or head gasket thickness (no gasket, multiple gaskets) will change that or if you have much more room up there you could have the head milled. You might wanna check out Two Stroke Performance Tuning by A. Graham Bell for a lot more info on port and setup info. The mix ratio depends what oil you use. I use AMSOil Saber Professional 100:1 and mix it at 50:1. I'd think most good synthetics should be fine at 40:1, 32:1 at the richest.

Very well put Brent ! Man your good at passing along the goods bro  .... One thing tho, dont the GY6,s bolt in totally different than a mina, from the bottom? Wouldnt that make the frame different?

The best I can measure, the venturi is an oval of about 12mm x 17mm. That should be somewhat equivalent to the surface area of a 14-15mm circle I believe. Lots of folks say that Vento has either 12 or 14mm carbs, so my best guess would be 14mm. Both of my Tritons (50 + 90) were the same size.
