3MPH difference from BBK + pipe vs a variator is really good. Not too bad eh? I have my eye on the Malossi (sport?) BBK combo'd with my home-made Stage6 Pro pipe- oohhhh can't wait! (Rubbing hands together in a devilish fashion ) OK, after doing a bunch of late-night research last night on Name brand BBK's, now I'm thinking I want to go with the Stage6 Sport Pro MKII.... but it seems that coupled with the (home-made) S6 Pro pipe, that I should probably upgrade my crank then? Yep, yep scoot tuning IS like crack lol. Here's the article that chaNged my mind from the Malossi kit... HERE.

I have that cylinder on my other motor and ran it with a Yasuni C16 and the stock crank. I hit 10.5k rpms regularly but never held it there long. I hit 11.3 a couple times. I think the stock crank can handle it unless you plan on dogging it. Just my two cents Niz.

Awesome. Thanks 2TDave- exactly the review info I was looking for from someone who has hands-on experience with this kit. If I remember correctly I think the C16 revs a little higher than the S6Pro.. I think the Stage6 stickers will look better on my scoot than the Malossi ones anyways.

The MKII dyno charts are even better.

"...But 2TDave said it could handle it.." lol I know the risks of running the stock crank at high RPM's.. it makes me feel better knowing that someone else has run this kit with a stock crank too. I see in my crystal ball that at some point I will probably end up with a spare 2T Minarelli on my workbench that I can take my time with and build up.. 2T bug bit me hard and hasn't let go

I know the feeling. That's exactly what I did. Built a nice street motor with a good pipe I could use later. Then got a spare motor and did a complete build. Still have a good running sport pro Mkii motor should I need it. Hope I don't! If you have a large spline and taper now Stage6 makes an HPC crank so you don't have to buy a new flywheel and variator like I did with the R/T crank.

So today I started to address an issue on my scoot that has been bugging me; COSMETICS! I took the front fender off my scoot. As you can see it's sun faded and nasty. There's barely any clear coat left on it. I'm not much of a pro painter by any means. I can get a decent paint job from a rattle can, but this is my baby and I want it to look good! I decided on a paint scheme and sprayed it out. I sprayed clear coat but wasn't happy with the finish. How do some guys get such a nice paint job from the same paint?? I headed over to Youtube and got myself edumacated... So I guess the secret is wet sanding. Aha! I wet sanded between coats and also wet sanded the orange peel out of the clearcoat the best I could. I only have 1000 grit for my finest sandpaper. I finished off by buffing everything out with Meguiars headlight restore compound that I had... It turned out great! This is probably the most effort I've ever put into a paint job ever, and although I made plenty of mistakes on this piece, I am pretty proud of the outcome The rest of the scoot should come out even better!
