Yes. There's a left and right shroud. Yeah, gotcha. No, I wouldn't remove them. Although I noticed it's loose on there, like it's just floating above the head and not attached to anything except from the cooling fan shroud. Also I noticed some of the lines are routed funny. The oil line crosses over the throttle line and around the spark plug wire too. Maybe I'm just anal about that, but the oil line kind of has a lot of slack and flops around. *sigh* I wish it wasn't like Satan's sauna out.

The larger oil line from the tank should run in a slot between the two shrouds. It might be easier to see and get to with the seat bucket out. I haven't had a bolt in my bucket since I started way back when:

Their a nice scooter, with easy access to everything without having to remove body panels. Very comfy to ride even for two people.

I haven't had a bolt in my bucket since I started way back when: Well I went to put in the fuel filter I got off eBay, fail. I figured I'd change the lines with some tubing I had, the tubing was fine but the filter leaked. So I had to run to Advanced for a fuel filter just for the time being. Figured I'd change the lines with some clear tubing. I didn't tackle the oil line though, I figured leave well enough alone. Plus it was hot out and I had to pack it up to take the GF to work. That RX8 looks nice. Is that a Wolf? I am still wondering what brands are good or not these days. Still looking for the GF.

Their a nice scooter, with easy access to everything without having to remove body panels. Very comfy to ride even for two people. Well seeing as it's only got a 50cc and I'm 240lbs myself, two people on it really wouldn't seem logical to me. It's funny though, every time I take the bike apart, it's evident that a 150cc engine would go right in this with no modifications. I can even add a 2nd shock to the rear if I wanted. I'm tempted to throw a 150 in it just for the hell of it in the future. Who knows. For now I want it to run and I need to square down the idle/start. Seems that I may have brought something off balance.

the 150's and the 50's are pretty much identical

the 150's and the 50's are pretty much identical Yeah, I've seen that. There's a couple of companies that make the same body/frame style as the VX-50. Which leads me to believe that slapping a 150cc motor on it would be easy. Also it makes it easy to replace some of the body parts. The entire handlebar body section needs to be replaced, as half the screws don't hold it together anymore. The front end is fine, just needs paint. The right side could use some work since the guy I got it from laid the bike down once and the bottom right panel had a chunk missing. but it looks like half the connecting points snapped or are just barely hanging on so a full body replacement wouldn't be a bad idea in the future I guess.

That was my scooter when I started. The plastics were held together with zip ties. I think I had replaced the gauge cover and screen. It was called a Eurostrata RX8. You can do a lot with these things and make more power and speed than a 150. I've seen 74mph on a gps and it looks pretty cool now. Just trying to get you motivated and keep you from going over to the dark side(4strokes).

Believe me, I don't want to go 4stroke, by the sounds of it I may drive it into a canal from what I've read haha. I LOVE your RX8! I'm not looking for 74mph, not yet anyways. I just am trying to avoid spending a fortune to just not be "blocking traffic" all the time just yet lol. PS, I'm kind of digging the stabilizer bar or whatever you want to call it. Seriously man, it looks sweet. You inspire me.

^^^ Friggin love 2TDaves nasty lookin Rx8! Basically all of these China made scoots are the same except for a few minor details. They are manufactured in China by a handful of Companies and anyone that buys a certain quanity- say a shipping container-full can get their own logo put on it. So whether it's a TaoTao, Baccio, Roketa, Peace Sports, Triton, Wolf, or whatever- they're all practically identicle. That's why someones Triton looks just like someone's Rx8- they just have different stickers or badges on them from whomever imported them! Thought I save you some time looking for a "good" brand of China scoot.

Nice Baccio scoot. Love them 1e40qmb's! One of the earliest and cheapest mods I made to my VX50 that made a good difference is clutch springs. The added boost to get through intersections faster added to my enjoyment a lot! Clutch springs are only like $10 but getting your clutch off and opened up the first time can be a chore- I had to go purchase a few specialty tools etc. Once you get a few of the tools needed scoot tuning becomes easier and more enjoyable! I used the 1500 RPM yellow clutch springs- Way better take off! Sent from my XT603 using Tapatalk 2 When you say clutch springs, do you mean the big torque spring that engages the clutch/pulley or you mean the springs for the pads themselves? I'm confused on that a little. Also, right now I idle around 1,500-1,800 so wouldn't that mean I'd always be engaging the clutch?

By clutch springs I mean the 3 small springs that are on the clutch arms. They typically come in three different sizes for our Minarelli's; 1000RPM (usually blue), 1500RPM (usually yellow), and 2000RPM (usually red). The RPM indicated is a (rough estimate) of how many MORE RPM's the clutch will rev to before engaging. For example, if you're idling at 1800RPM's -clutch springs do not affect your idle speed- and when you twist the throttle, your scoot starts to move (clutch engaging) at 3k RPM's, then the blue 1K clutch springs will add roughly 1k RPM's before clutch engages. So after swapping in the blue 1k clutch springs, you will now start moving at 4000RPM's instead of 3k RPM's... Make sense? I have typically gone in the middle and use the yellow 1.5k springs. They let your scoot rev up more before takeoff and make a big difference getting you through the intersection faster! These are the first mod I'd make to a scoot as they're cheap (like $15 shipped) and make a big difference. It may a bit to get used to twisting your throttle a lot more to get moving, but you'll never go back to stock clutch springs again! Here's a link where I buy most of my scoot stuff. Partsforscooters.com - clutch springs HERE.

But thanks for that explanation! That helped a lot

It won't affect top speed. Heavier rollers may give you a little more or modding the variator ramp as others have done. You could move the washer that's inside the variator to the other side of the star washer for a small mph gain. It's all stuff to try and test. Sometimes they work other times you start over. When you take the cover off next time check the gear ratio and the rollers for weight and wear.
