Your stock airbox looks wonderful!I searched for one of those for a while, then modded my stock airbox to a 'ghetto rear facing box' 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/497/airbox-relocationThe airbox to carb duct can be modded just like your flex hose to cone filter mod..Use that stock airbox and mod it to fit your new carb!! I'm glad you are gonna get a carb finally, looking at this thread about taking this and that part off of different china carbs makes me scream! You are killing yourself and your scooter messing with that stuff,,I think the Dell/clone will treat you much better, listen what the Dell tuners tell you and you'll be happily smoking up the neighbourhood on the back wheel!!

Funny you should say that. I just ordered the Dell clone from that store on eBay that has a store on AliExpress. They gave it to me for $25 plus $9.90 shipping. I also ordered a slew of jets, choke cable and other crap from TreadlandTV also. All in, just over $100 for a carb that once I get it going I'm sure I'll be better off. I hope. The bead on the stock airbox is mostly dry. I'm letting it cure overnight to be sure. Now if I can just figure out what I messed up on my M1 BBK install. *sigh* And as for the airbox mod like you were saying, I was thinking of that. I may have to just cut the tube coming off of it since I can't seem to figure out how to get it out without destroying the bloody thing.

So the Dell clone is on its way via China. Hopefully not the slow boat. I also have a jet assortment coming ranging from 75-96, two needles, a choke and a generic throttle cable just in case. Don't worry, I ordered the long cable choke for it. I may end up doing it front mount. Depending how my week goes I'll work on the airbox and start modding the connections. No way am I using that Uni-filter anymore. I also ordered a couple sets of bar-end mirrors for both bikes. I'll give em a shot, the seller on eBay let me buy two pair for $20 shipped, they are aluminum and not plastic too. I've got two cheap-o bike speedometers I'm going to try, $6 a piece so if they don't work out as well as the Sigma that amin posted about, I'll eat the $12 for them and order the Sigma for both bikes. The ones I ordered have a backlight in them so it was that or spend $20 each. I ALSO ordered the Trail Tech CHT gauges for both bikes as well. 14mm and 10mm according to niz76, he's the friggin man for getting me that info so fast! I goofed and only ordered one 48" extension cable for the CHT though so I'll probably have to just order another one in the next day or two. I can wait honestly, if I have to keep the CHT gauge taped or zip-tied somewhere else for now just to get readings. I have some 8awg wire I ordered and got early this week that I'm going to use to try and re-wire this bike with. The wire and connections are beat up pretty bad. I was thinking of looking into a new coil, CDI and solenoid too. But the CDI and Coil are things I should research, as I've read they aren't much of an improvement really. I just wouldn't mind having at least some spares for this thing. This month will be very busy for me in many directions, between my car needing some work still and having to take it somewhere to do the work, plus I have some personal stuff going on that could change the course of things to come very drastically. So this month will be hard to really dedicate the time so at least I have a lot of parts and what not on the way to tinker with as I go. I just have to try and not mash them all together to consume too much time and make too much confusion. The panels for the VX are sitting on the patio right now. To be honest, I'm in no rush to put them back on. I'm kind of liking the look of the bike all bare and exposed. I'd do that to the front, but the headlights and gauges are all in that bodywork so till I'm ready to replace those, I have to leave em. For now the bike sits, waiting to be worked on again. I haven't built the leakdown tester yet, I'm hoping I don't need it but honestly I think I may just do it for the hell of it to make sure. I will try again to get the tires changed soon though, that's the least I should do. Just so they aren't sitting in my livingroom anymore lol.
