I got an answer from Parts For Scooters and they said the Hoca intake would fit a carb 19mm and up. niz76 is sending me a spare reed valve cage with the metal reeds and a forward facing intake but I'm still thinking of just ordering the HOCA intake. Bigger reeds mean bigger intake, it's going to cost me the same no matter where I go to replace the reed assembly with brand new or getting new reed valves anyways. I know niz76 has the Hoca reed valve assembly and he's happy with it. Anyone else use it? With or without their intake. I don't have to use it, I have to figure out how I'm mounting the carb anyways. Just to be perfectly clear- I didn't use the Hoca reed cage or intake. I simply used the fiberglass reed petals on my stock reed cage and intake... Ooohhh.. Gotcha. So you cut them to match then? I'm trying to avoid cutting them if I don't have to.

That was fast, thanks so much! I'll probably get a chance to put it on this weekend and try it. I'm still debating on buying the Hoca reed valve assembly. But let me see how this works with better condition reeds. Yours have no light leak at all, so WOOT! I owe ya PS. My Hoca reeds don't fit the block you sent me either. So you got a freak pair or something.

Jhobe, stop screwing around and put the clutch springs in and the bbk! Your sitting on two very important upgrades. The others are small gains in comparison.

This is just me thinking and speculating while I don't really have the time to perform actual work on it. Don't worry, in the next week or two I'll have plenty of time off and that idle time will turn into scooter time. But first, the car and the M1 needed some work as those are now my two modes of transportation. I know you're probably wanting to hit me with a damn wrench already by now lol.

No, the only thing I want to hit is the road. Lol. The other parts and which ones you choose are subject to the performance IMO of the baseline. Bbk and pipe. IMO you should be getting rid of the stock clutch springs so you can get the cvt tuned to the pipe. Not to mention better low end.

I've got pretty much all of the tools I've needed now, just got the bearing puller yesterday too. The tires are in and I ordered a few more things last night needed for both scoots. My main problem is having the time to sit and do the BBK and clutch springs at once since I can't leave it half done and walk away. I have to be able to complete it or have the time and space to drop the engine and bring it inside. Plus the bitchy neighbor. She's being nice again and hasn't said boo to me about them hah. But then again I haven't touched the mosquito killer lately lol. PS. Some people still don't believe me when I tell them about your Strada. So yeah, I can't wait to hit the road either! Hope all is going well with you by the way man. Call me if you need anything.

Thanks, found a place with a bigger garage today. I'll be moving around the first then I can get back to my retro build. You can do the bbk in an hour or so. Tuning takes longer but once you get the head and exhaust sealed up you can walk away. Just keep an eye on the pin clips. They like to shoot out into the circlip abyss.

Thanks,... Just keep an eye on the pin clips. They like to shoot out into the circlip abyss. They also like to fly into the cases, which can really screw you up!

You'll have to give me the new location to come and check out. And yeah, I think 90GTVert or someone had said something about shoving a rag around the crank rod into the case to prevent anything from flying in. An hour for you would be two hours for me probably, knowing how things happen and all with me lol.

SOMEONE STOLE MY SCOOTER!!! Baccio VX50 For SaleOk I'm kidding. But damn! Really, 800? I paid 400 for mine but it's not in that good of shape from what I can see. Still though. If I had a way to trade with this guy, I'd buy it for spares and possibly to throw a stroker in that puppy. In due time.

Wow I post a lot to myself in here. So here's the air filter mod I was talking about. Well, the core of it. Still not decided on mounting yet, I may use some hose to move it or I may just slap it on the carb. It all depends how well it sits on the carb and how much room I have. The open air filter and the "pod" I'm making from a Gelato canister I had sitting around. I drilled some small holes around the edge away from the filter, maybe 10 or so holes. I'm going to see how it works maybe tomorrow.
