Sounds like you got a good scoot. If she leaves there'll be more room for scoots. scooters can be finicky but you'll never figure out a woman. Hope it works out for you bro. It's all good. Probably better that it goes this way now than further down the road. FYI. Last night I was contemplating on asking Niz if he wanted to make a trade, my Baccio for his Zip. Figured he could get his Baccio build back haha. But after riding the M1 then taking my Baccio for a quick spin, even in it's beat up condition it's a totally different ride and still had more pickup off the line than the M1. I'll fix that though. I feel that the M1 is going to be next to be "fixed up" if I get the Baccio squared, in due time though. Dave, I'll get with you this weekend to see when to come. I'll have to figure out a ride back to my place.

So today I removed the CVT cover and took out some of the screws so I can go to ACE and see about getting some stainless hardware for it.
Yesterday I ordered the HOCA Variator, drive face and star washer. It comes with 4g rollers so I ordered two more sets of rollers, 5g & 6g. So I can play with the weights and see if those can help me dial it in with mixing and matching. I know in order to mix and match, you alternate every other one. IE> 4g-5g, 4g-5g, 4g-5g = 6x 4.5g. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I also ordered the 1500rpm clutch springs, that will be after the vari. Or before, I'm not sure. I was thinking of throwing those on there just for the hell of it first, then see how it responds.
Don't worry, I'm not going to do every change together. When I do the variator, I'll test it with the rollers it came with. Then if I feel like the pickup is good but the top end can do more, I'll step it up half a gram at a time. I thought of ordering some 3g rollers, maybe on the next order. I still have more to go, but for now I figured that would be a good base. I'm looking more for a good steady cruising speed and I know you need heavier rollers for that. I'm hoping the clutch springs will help to compensate for the takeoff.
Other than that, it's parked comfortable on my patio under cover for now, since I have a little room there to keep it and don't have my chairs and table there. So at least I can tinker and not worry about it being a daily driver.
It also helps that last night my GF came home with her ex, handed me her keys and said she's not staying here anymore, took her stuff (Most of it, I found more I have to send to her mom) and left. Yeah, that's a whole other ball of stress and drama in my life that I've been dealing with on top of getting these scooters running. For her. Well she's out of the picture so they're all for me now I guess.

So some parts came in today. YAY! Of course the first thing I did was change the rectifier. Not sure if that's going to make a difference or not, I'll have to wait till I ride it and see how the battery acts. It's sitting for now. I got nervous though, by the looks of the packaging, the Variator looked like the hole was too small for my spline/crank. So since I had the CVT bolts out, I popped it off, took the vari off and checked, it's a match! So yay! Don't worry, Dave. I was careful in putting it back together. I know what you mean about a tight fit. I'll check it with the new vari when the time comes. I probably won't have a chance to really do much this week. Besides, I want to get GPS readings with the current setup VS the new setup and as I change the roller weights too. The clutch springs will be for another time. Oh and look... Thos Visu fuel filters you guys were talking about. Those are for the 4t scoot. "M".

OOOOHHH shiiiinnnyyy! Shiny new parts yay! I really like the Hoca vari vs. the stock it's a nice upgrade. Totally eliminated the "shift" where the RPM's drop off and then come back using the stock vari. Most seem to have to use washers/shims to lengthen the drive boss a bit to get a good takeoff...

I've heard good things about these vari's though I don't know exactly what to expect. It came with 4g weights so I bought a set of 5g and 6g for tuning. Couldn't find a tuner kit at 16x13 that wasn't going to cost a ton plus I was impatient. Even though I won't get to touch this till this weekend probably. BUT!... I'm not entirely worried about takeoff really. In fact, I'd rather not have it fly out from under me just yet. I'm 240lbs at 5'8 so I can't expect it to zip so easily at low end. I am more concerned with top/cruising speed. I eventually want to take this puppy to work. That is if I can get the MPG under control so I'm not stuck with no gas. I guess I could just take a bottle of oil with me. I need to get rid of that Quicksilver Walmart oil.

Been using the quicksiler synthetic oil don't see a problem with it. Pre-Mix, right? If so, what's your ratio? I've been mixing it at 40:1, was thinking of going heavier but I'm also thinking I need to upjet my carb first. I have the jet kit for it, since it's not the actual Minerelli carb, it's a Mikuni. Found that out when I did a cleaning and the rebuild kit didn't match.

Just installing a better pump... Well I took the lines and tank out and am mixing. I still have the tank and can always replace the lines if need be. I don't know if the pump works or not, really not looking to gamble on it at this point but who knows. I may get tired of mixing. Is there a way to adjust the mix with the pump?

Yes, there's a cable that adjusts like a throttle cable. Tighten for more oil. Your cable is disconnected now. I didn't see any reason for the pump being actuated when you disconnected the lines. Which reminds me, I think I forgot to ziptie it to the underside. Lol

No worries.

Ok so I ordered the BBK from www.scooter-atvparts.com/ based on USMCDoc's suggestion (HE FORCED ME AND BEAT ME TO DO IT!!! ) Now... I need exhaust. Not crazy, I like the Technigas -R I think? Trying to keep the budget for the exhaust around $150. Ideas and links? I see lots from a couple sites but not sure which one to get.

Btw, I cleaned and sealed the intake and reed block on your scoot with the same sealant we use on cases so no need to mess with it.
