about the kickstart you guys, the gasket that was on the cvt cover was dry rotted so bad that i had to scrape it off with a razor . i wonder if thats the reasion the thing did what it did in the video www.youtube.com/watch?v=urTboXAQjGk or when it did start it i heard the sound of metal grinding

Some are more sensitive than others to spacing. I've had issues with the starter bendix before from spacing, but I wouldn't expect that to be the issue with the kick start.

im gonna get a gasket and see if thats what it was if not at least my cvt cover will have a new one

the short is the white wire on the stator wire cluster what can that mean i wonder

Is that with the stator disconnected from the rest of the harness or still plugged in? If it's still plugged in, unplug and see which side it's on.

ok i got a reading of 2.6-3.6 on wire when it was conected and when i un pluged it and put a lead on the white wire prong in the plug that the stator plugs in to

when i un pluged the sator the reading would be gone but when i put the i tested the wires on the plug that the stator plugs into i got a reading on the white one

So it sounds like the short is in the harness somewhere or one of the connected components. See if you still get the same result with the rectifier unplugged. If so, trace the white wire and look for anywhere that it is chaffed or cut or the conductor inside is otherwise exposed. Make sure no connectors are damaged in any way that could let 2 wires touch each other.

i dont have the regulater pluged in and traceing the wire so far its fine theres another ground on the cylinder fyi

There should be at least a couple of grounds in the harness, usually engine, batt, and at least one frame point. That white wire shouldn't be getting grounded from anywhere though.
