I !looked for a laptop, didn't see one in the or thank god haha. Well I'm home. Got here last night. CVS is a dick so I had to wait for my meds, while sitting in pain for a couple more hours total. But I've got friends staying the night this weekend and I've got my spot situation on the couch. Monday I change the bandages, Friday I see the ortho for a followup. Thank god I have tons of movies. Gonna see if i can find someone to pick my scoot up from the pound lol

Hey since you can't ride your scoot you could rent it to Dick. He posted a thread about wanting to rent one in January near lake placid. No joke.

They impounded you're scoot? What dicks did that? They did just for safe keeping. From what I know I'm not supposed to be charged for it. I have to call to find out though.

No joke. hah, Everyone wants to ride this thing when I haven't even finished tuning it. Nah, I'll pass. Too much headache and I don't have a way to get the scooter home yet, let alone to someone who wants to rent it. Liabilities and mechanical issues also are my responsibility, no thanks.

So I just called the Sheriff's office, who told me to call Kauffs, which is where the scooter was being held. It turns out that I am being charged. As it stands today the charges are $386 + 25 a day. Oh and it has to be paid in cash. Looks like I'm not getting that scooter back. I will however call and bitch at the Sheriff's office about this. If the officer would have rolled it over to my cousins like I asked him to, then I wouldn't be charged. So. Yeah. Great news.

I hope you can get it straightened out. Luckily I've never crashed and had the cops involved, but I'd think there should be some sort of procedure in place when the rider is hospitalized or otherwise disabled and can't pick the vehicle up right away. I understand that it takes resources for them to deal with wrecked vehicles, but already nearly $400 for a little scooter that takes up maybe 20% of the space to store as a car. Essentially the towing company has totaled your scooter with just the tow/store bill at this point.

Bro that really sucks man. I've been through the ringer with traffic tickets and know how these charges can snowball out of hand quickly. Like getting kicked when you're down. Just when you put all that work and $$ into it and had it running good too. Practically like having it stolen. So sorry bro.

Wow that is messed up! Let me know if you need anything. I'm not the best at dealing with cops though.

Wow that is messed up! Let me know if you need anything. I'm not the best at dealing with cops though. Well at this rate I'm going to start complaining to the sheriff's department about the charges. If I get results, I may need some help getting it. I know very few people with a truck and know-how on hauling a scooter. I'll be in no condition to physically do anything so that's where I'll need the help. The funny part is the scooter suffered little to no damage. One of the bar end mirrors popped off, that's about it. My GPS is in the scooter also along with some tools. So at the least I'd hope they let me get that stuff back. I'll keep you posted though. I have other matters at hand to take care of this week as it is. Legal, financial and Doctor visits are all I see in my future right now.

I'm still alive. I had my followup with the orthopedic surgeon on Friday. They said the incision looks good and the fracture is healing well. I have to stay off the leg for 8 weeks, I'm wearing a knee immobilizer now. I have a walker, which only gets me from point A to point B. I'm trying to find someone to come over now and help set me up so I can use the wheelchair to get around a little and be a little more self sufficient and not be waited on hand and foot. Pun intended. Other than that, there's still some swelling in the leg so the staples can't come out yet. I'm hoping that in a week or two the swelling is gone and I can get clearance to go back to work, providing I can get a ride. The owner of my company called and said not to worry about my job, she wants to work out a way for me to do some work from home so I can have some kind of income too. It's a mess, but not the end of the world. Here's some pics, I hope this works. The first is the incision just to give you an idea of what they did. The 2nd is the x-ray from my followup showing what they put in me. Still no word on the scooter by the way. I'm going to call the Sheriffs dept again tomorrow and explain the situation to see if they can just release it and get it back to me. Fingers crossed.

Wow dude that x-ray looks like friggin Terminators leg lol. Glad to hear things are working themselves. Best of luck! I've never know any sheriffs office to do anyone any favors as far as $$ is concerned but I have my fingers crossed for you too! It can get a lil quiet at times without ya here so don't be a stranger!
